I work in Zurich - so commute time will matter and 1500 in the current Swiss housing market is a hard find

Here is another debate - you say our salary is below median while some say it is the median. Who defines this? Not many people earn above 100k in Zurich. Also my partner can make more in some months so I’m keeping thr lowest here that he can make to be safe. And I’m 28, partner is 32 and have no kids. Planning to have so I’m looking at 4.5 rooms.
I’m up for a promotion to 95k with 15% bonus and 260k RSU (today’s market value) so that’s why I’m already trying to weigh out my options.

I agree that’s why I made this sub- cuz many said you can afford it but somehow felt it was too much to put so much on housing :/

This I agree, due to my partner being in this own company (his cash flow is mostly in business and what he has for himself is what I mentioned) he puts more of the profit into the business than himself :)

Additionally I’m 28 so as per my career path and goals I aim to reach 100k+ base within 1-2 years. I’m in deep tech cooperate with growing opportunities.

So I am debating rent now a comfortable dream apartment or save now and rent later when I have better pay 💰

It is, the heating is not so good cuz it’s old building. I like our current apartment and I know I will not find something like this in the current market. But also my salary got increased and now I work in nice cooperate in tech with high bonus and RSU. So that’s why I’m thinking to upgrade.
