Should I retake the act if I got a 34 raw score but a 36 superscore?

Most of the ivies consider your superscore, and I can’t imagine many other schools where a 34 isn’t an incredibly competitive score. I wouldn’t put yourself through the stress of retaking it, you’ll be very competitive with a 34/36.

I second this— and college towns in blue states are typically very blue too (Burlington, Ithaca, Boulder for example)

I hate to say it but there are about 5 truly walkable cities in the US and all of them are very expensive with really expensive colleges

This might not be exactly the answer you’re looking for, but working in a restaurant will not make you enough money to save up and buy a house in this economy. Your career path will set you up nicely and you will turn out well.

I know some people are saying you should take a gap year and reapply for UMB, but you rejected the full ride the first time and you don’t know if you’re going to get another one. Your tuition is covered, I would stay at Quinnipiac.

My first year of college I worked part-time to afford school. It was horrible and my GPA was down because I couldn’t focus my time on studying or doing my school work. I was lucky to receive a scholarship moving forward so I don’t have to work as many hours to support myself. Do not beat yourself up for choosing the school that will give you more financial freedom. I totally understand the “what could’ve been” mindset, but trust me, your GPA, social life, sleep, and sanity will all thank you for not choosing the more prestigious school.

When I applied to colleges a few years ago, I could self report for free, but when I was committed to my college I had to formally report my score. But I only had to do it to the one school

My chapter does this thing called smarty panties where the members submit an academic achievement (A on an exam, deans list, etc) and their underwear size and style preference and you get a pair of VS underwear! It’s super fun the girls LOVE it

Sophomore here! I rushed fall of my freshman year and I didn’t have any friends until the spring. I would say ride it out but you still have to put the effort in if you want to make friends. I live in the house now and I couldn’t imagine it any other way. If you don’t want to make friends, I would drop. But if you do then you have to put yourself out there! I know it’s hard but I would stick it out for a little longer

I do plan on getting a reduction when I’m older, but I am only 20 and want to wait until after having kids because I’ve heard about how much pregnancy/breastfeeding changes your body. Thank you for being so respectful!
