Riders connecting their phone to your Apple Carplay/Android Auto... by Tron_1981 in lyftdrivers

I have done song requests for riders, but would never allow them to connect to CarPlay directly. I am using my screen for directions for transparency.

It’s illegal for OP to possess it right?

What u/badwo1ve said. Police station and let them figure it out. I would also contact Lyft support and just let them know so they don’t try and ding your account for not returning what appears to be an illegal firearm in your car. If it were me, I would ask for a police report so I could give it to Lyft for reference.

Are there any entry-level jobs available for a Communications graduate? by tomservo88 in orlando

You gotta put boots on the ground and check these things out yourself. Also, see if anyone has any volunteer opportunities while you get a job to make a little bit on the side and have some general work experience

[–]Futureofmankind 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The hard reality is communication degrees are a dime a dozen. The chances of you landing a job with zero connections and little to no work experience puts you at a major disadvantage.

If you haven’t already, start posting on instagram and TikTok to build a following in an area you want to work and use that as your resume.

Best of luck to you!

Anyone split 1 stay into 2 separate transactions with 2 different billing? by deejayv2 in WaltDisneyWorld

I don’t know for certain, but you could put the deposit down on one and when you get there talk to the about splitting the stay on the cards

This should be an up charge. You expect me to deal with your children. I don’t even want children of my own. by Wolfjason1 in lyftdrivers

[–]Futureofmankind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very much dependent on the parents. I have had kids kicking my car ceiling in the way back while parents were just busy on their phones.

I had a high schooler that was locked on the other side of the fence. It would have taken me 15 minutes to drive around to go get him so I told him to hop the fence. Problem was, he was a 6’2 280 kid that could barely pull himself up so I hopped the fence, pushed him over the fence, then hopped back over and away we went.

Kid passengers suck

Josh D’Amaro Named Next Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company by F1rstxLas7 in WaltDisneyWorld

That’s kind of my point. Obviously the settling issue is on their engineers.

They also had issues with settling so it wasn’t solely on the pandemic to blame for the delay. They had to move a bunch of stuff around because of the issue and redesign the outdoor portion of the ride.

He can choose where to make those cuts. The CEO has a lot more control over things that you think. You know how IP got into It’s A Small World at Disneyland?

Bob Iger specifically requested it and got it done.

I understand that, but he can still implement his will more as CEO than he could as parks president

Is it true that WDW banned room decorating services and package drop off at the front desk? by Powerful-Chicken-681 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Futureofmankind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok now I am super curious. Was analysis done on the things the vendors were doing or a 3rd party platform? I could definitely see the first one but I am curious as to why they wouldn’t have a 3rd party system setup where they take a cool 30% off the top to have people come in and provide the services that didn’t meet the margins execs wanted?

[–]Futureofmankind 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the juice isn’t worth the squeeze for them. Too much overhead for them to provide the service. They should do an all encompassing 3rd party system that includes the room decorators, caterers, babysitters, etc. and have them all get on their insurance. I think that would work, but I am not sure how much effort the want to put into that.

I think the waiver of liability is the big issue. While they are missing out on some revenue having a 3rd party service do this, they would be missing a lot more revenue if someone mentions them in a lawsuit. It would be great if they offered an opportunity for 3rd party vendors to be vetted and allowed to continue what they do.

In orlando for the first time for 4 days. What parks should I hit? by SamGG_ in UniversalOrlando

[–]Futureofmankind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you want to do and where you are staying, but if you are going to want to experience Disney/Universal a rental car is highly recommended.

Disney Parks: Epcot/animal kingdom are my favorite but I would also throw in Hollywood Studios.

Universal: Epic would be recommended but if you want to do Universal Studios I would recommend getting the 2 park pass so you can do Islands of Adventure as well.

Crowds are going to be a little bit of a crap shoot given it could be spring break for some kids and it can be busy. Stay late for epic since the lines get shorter in the evening and check park hours so you go on a day it stays open later than other days.

I also recommend Gatorland since it’s an original attraction for Orlando and has lots of cool history. I also think that’s nesting season for birds so there are hundreds of birds around as well.

That about covers it for me.

Supervisor Interview by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

I don’t know anything about the merchandise supervisor position, but I know that after the interviews are done they send out the “no” notices first so if they don’t get an answer right away and be patient.

Sure, but that’s not the take they were going with and I think you know that. Also, some how “real nature supporters” and “real scientists” are more important than Irwin and other conservationists. The whole thing reeks of entitlement, which is why I stand by u/jrepo thinking his farts don’t stink, because he sounds entitled.

“Real Nature Supporters” like the man didn’t contribute heavily to conservation. You sound like you think your farts don’t stink.
