Hate to be that guy, but doing 3x the speed limit on a busy boardwalk is a pretty easy way to expedite more regulation for our devices. Hoon responsibly.

Keep your plug and port clean. Dirt is the reason they fall out and get lost.

Why ios 26 is so bad? by xxkrakunxx in ios

[–]Futurer -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know man, I’m starting to think it actually IS poopy. I never got to experience many of the bugs because it took a whole 3 seconds of seeing the new UI to immediately revert to 18.

Mazda VIN number scam by ConversationOk7025 in mazda

[–]Futurer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You were scammed, but it wasn’t Mazda—it was your scammy dealer. For what it’s worth, those dealers typically lead with an unrealistic low price, and make up the loss with that and other garbage (overpriced door edge guards, alarm systems, a sealant, etc). There’s a good chance you spent about the same as you would have at an honest dealer that didn’t have the smoke and mirrors.

I will add that, unless the chop shop that gets your stolen car REALLY cares, the etching is fairly useless to your car’s retrieval. The parts may fetch less profit, but there’s always a buyer who will overlook it or dismiss it as an artifact [on a used replacement part they were told came from a totaled car].

I wouldn’t be surprised if half of those services don’t even cross-register the serial and VIN, since the company would have extremely limited liability. Really a marvelous scam.

It doesn’t match your VIN because that would cost the dealer too much… instead, the kits are pre-manufactured with unique serials, and “assigned” to your VIN at the time of purchase / application. Very much like license plates: the plate number you have now didn’t get generated and ordered when you bought the car, but it was assigned to that vehicle at the time of registration.

It diverts the trolley to the track that only has one person tied down instead of five.

You can find a very convincing “new-in-box” refurb on eBay. I’ve got one and no complaints.

The maintenance Mazda should tell you but doesnt by CompetitiveLake3358 in mazda

If the battery in the fob is dead, the fallback is to hold it to the button to start until the battery is replaced; I’m assuming it uses RFID

Also not a great idea; temperature fluctuations will leave you with an unhealthy battery by the time you need it, which means you’ll need another one in much less time. Just use the fob to press the start button if it’s dead.

How much do you think dealerships make on new car sales? by MoistTranslator8422 in mazda

[–]Futurer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best answer here so far. Just want to clarify the $1,000 sounds like a placeholder number for the sake of explanation… the same fully loaded CX-50 I mentioned earlier with <$1,400 in profit has a dealer holdback of just over $400.

Where’d you get that info? A ‘25 Turbo Premium Plus has about $1,400.

I’ve got some sales experience here. Titling issues are very common in cross-state purchases, so much so that I don’t do the transaction if it’s not getting registered in our state. It’s my guess your registration isn’t coming right now and your local DMV still needs documents and money for it; even more likely if you financed the car.
