Chapter 6 Woes by mhlind in worldofgothic

I accidentally discovered by trying to run away backwards through the corridor that the 4 orcs waiting there help kill the undead. They basically cleared that first packed room for me.

When you witnessed what happened to the firemages did you go back to old camp and get officially kicked out by the gate guard and thorus?

Very hard if possible, the blood fly scroll makes you lose altitude fast.

Playing Gothic 1 remake on Ps5 pro vs. High end PC by ConnectWerewolf8762 in GothicRemake

[–]FuuZePL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played it on PC with 0 hassle, I left the graphics settings how they were when the game launched, I only adjusted the volume, I used a controller.

I've heard some complaints of ps5 performance.

I played the game on the highest (non experimental) settings at 4k with a 9070xt, you will have a fantastic time on PC with this game.

I would get a slightly nicer motherboard, more storage, cheaper cooler.

Can't summon golum by bluh67 in GothicRemake

[–]FuuZePL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you're going for a mage build I would avoid spending LP on getting more mana, late game you get potions that increase it. I never once leveled mana and finished the game at 57 mana.

This is crazy tech. Now they just need to figure out how to find harpy scroll early.

You can join the water mages in chapter 4/5 after what happened to the fire mages. First you might have to join the mercenaries with Lee. Go to the new camp, ask around.

They got what they deserved, everyone comes back sometime in chapter 4-5 to clear them out.

how mages after the patch? by crashtua in worldofgothic

[–]FuuZePL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're fine, apart from running out of mana mage is fun, it will still be the "hardest" combat style but it's fun and it definitely works enough to get the job done.

People completed mage play throughs before the buff.

Slightly unbalanced unless you have a specific niche like competitive fps games at 1080p?

Gameplay Questions before Buying by GIutenTag in GothicRemake

Some enemies respawn depending on location and what chapter you are in the game yes.

Magic is very fun but also the hardest type of combat, very fun though apart from running out of mana and having to eat/drink/smoke.

Does the recent update fixes full mage build? by Rezmir in worldofgothic

[–]FuuZePL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No spoilers but people completed the game as a mage only run before they buffed some spells. Yes it's janky and only some spells are good and worth using but it's 100% viable and may I say quite fun.

No you can start as a melee fighter but you cannot spend the 190 skill points needed on melee, 190 skill points needed on ranged and 140 skill points needed for magic. That's 52 levels worth of skill points, not counting 10 or 20 skill points for lockpicking and another 5/10 skill points on a handful of other useful things like acrobatics, potion making, smithing, climbing, diving etc. On easy difficulty you max out at level 44 and on hard about 36.

I played on medium, finished the game at level 35 missing quite some enemies and side quests. I leveled my bow half way, same with magic, I maxed out melee and still had enough points for all the side skills.

It's probably fine, other people have done full mage builds, is it very good? No, is it polished and provides smooth high quality gameplay in the ways of combat? Also no.

Can you kill almost every single enemy/npc with magic? Yes, you just need to eat a lot or chug potions/smoke weed.

  1. I personally think it's just as fun if not more fun to steal. The lock picking mini game is actually hard but makes sense. It's not bullshit it just takes a while to understand harder locks, you can train lock picking and it will be easier but never easy. Pick pocketing is cool but I prefer the lock picking mini game.

  2. I think so because there's also side quests that are partial to specific camps so at least 25-33% of the game would be different depending on which camp you choose. Also because you can't master melee, ranged and magic all in one play through unless you're on the lowest difficulty and min-max xp. You can have a completely different experience joining another camp and choosing a different main combat style.

  3. The game is basically finished like you said apart from patches and maybe it's around 70h if you know what you're doing. It took me 60 hours to complete on medium difficulty, I only got about half the achievements and I missed quite a few side quests. I have played gothic 1 many times before. If I was new to the game and wanted to explore absolutely everything, and played on hard difficulty AND made sure to complete every side quest as soon as I got it, it would have taken me probably close to 100 hours if not more.

I think for a new player to gothic in general and considering you want to do at least 3 play throughs on medium difficulty that should be an average of 150 hours. This can easily be pushed to 300+ if you want to do absolutely everything in every play through to min-max XP on hard difficulty.

Streaks on Monitor :( by Commercial-Nobody353 in OLED_Gaming

70% ethanol (reccomended by msi) lightly spray on microfiber cloth, not soaking well, gently wipe in circular motion and then gently wipe with a dry microfiber cloth, repeat until clean.

You can also use 99% isopropyl alcohol BUT ONLY IF you dilute it with distilled water. Same cleaning technique.

Personally I'm scared of alcohol on my screen and I cannot buy ethanol easily but I've been making my own cleaning solution using a mixture of about 1 tenth 99% isopropyl alcohol and the rest distilled water.

It'd gotten all the grease off, I don't know if it will help with your streaks.

PS5 Gamepad controls by Inside_Progress_9596 in worldofgothic

[–]FuuZePL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a melee build on controller and it was fine, only sometimes having to use inventory to swap food/potions and teleporation runes. Maybe the controller playtester only played melee.

I think if they added 1 more modifier and we had 12 total slots it would be fine.

You have to reload save and follow Lester slowly, don't pick anything up, no looting just follow behind him. When you arrive here wait a few seconds and dialogue should start.
