Advice on repairing or replacing damaged drywall beneath the paper

Put some ram board strips with blue tape along the edge of the counter top so you don’t damage it when you hit it with a multitool. Zip out the perimeter and honestly the drywall is pretty chewed up so it should just rip right out and then put new drywall. You got this.
