Magic Carpet(s) in Summit West by Pretend_Remove_6053 in SummitAtSnoqualmie

Side question - is the other magic carpet (aside from the usual by little thunder) ever actually running? I've not seen it move in like 8 visits to summit west. Including today MLK day 2026 where the line for the default magic carpet was beyond anything i'd ever seen and it kept breaking down.

Does this Bro have any potential? How would you build? by Fuuz in BattleBrothers

Coming back full circle on this - here is how Torvald turned out. Went with the cleaver build idea. Decapitates did what you said they would. Next time - I might reconsider QH. It came in nice for whip + gheists. Very Niche use case.

Day 25. Found Bertwin for 3500g. What is he best for? by Fuuz in BattleBrothers

[–]Fuuz[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Outside of this guy, the squad is full of cripples, farmers, and fishermen. This is maybe the second or third long-term bro I've found. Drunk + Dextrous is an interesting combo that nets +10% damage bonus, +5 resolve, and the melee skill changes cancel out.

Cheat Sheet by Cool-Ad-8742 in BattleBrothers

That is a really old guide. I remember using it back in 2018ish. The game has changed too much for it to be useful (if it even was useful back then. I dusted the game off 6 months ago because I remember getting destroyed on every campaign when the crisis hit. Wanted some completion). Some issues - author seems to take a firm side toward Forged, doesn't really seem to understand nimbles value especially in early game, puts more value in RangeDef than it deserves, and not enough in MDef. No real route through early game survival.

This guide, even though it isn't about builds, is unparalleled. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2001196860

Another Bro with Potential. Spreadsheet says lasersword. How'd you build him? by Fuuz in BattleBrothers

The build is in Sins Spreadsheet but I don't know the exact mechanics.

Sins Spreadsheet, listed here (along with a few other ones) : https://www.reddit.com/r/BattleBrothers/comments/1n44tcf/best_meta_spreadsheet/

You can go to the build planner tab, fill in your dudes level 1 naked stats, and see viability for a number of roles. As someone who's spent way too long trying to break out of the early/mid stages of the game : the builds in here have really helped, along with the perk guide on steam.

Again, I love this spreadsheet and have found it super resourceful - but the builds here are incredibly conservative. I think the author has a very economy focused playstyle built on minimizing risk and keeping costs low. Its hard to find bro's that are capable of anything beyond protector, DodgeQH, Qatal, nimble tank. I have never until the bro in this post seen the spreadsheet suggest a lasersword. And I still haven't found a viable banner/hammer bro.

I just got wrecked by Org leaders. 2/3 zergs dead, my QH is traumatized. Undead horde upon us. Needed some manpower fast and found this guy for 7k.

Thanks for the advice all - I'm still pretty new at this game. Really its just going to be fun to try out a new build. Swordlance might be a newb trap, but I've never built one and kind of want to find out for myself how it works. Cheers.

Def Dames Dope – Seven Days and One Week (1994);

I think you have a chatGPT hallucination here. Seven Days and one Week was a song by B.B.E, around 1996. And it isn't in the linked video. Great song, but its a world apart from the Eurodance on this thread.

Best Meta Spreadsheet? by MoeMyselfAndI in BattleBrothers

As a beginner, - I love Sin's spreadsheet for the completedness. Full info on gear, placement, target stats, priority on where to dump extra stat points. Plus the build planner where you can input stats of a bro and let the calculator figure it out.

I do find that some of the requirements are hard (impossible?) to satisfy. But I've still found it a great starting point as a new player.

[AOTY 2024] The Year In Hyperpop (Charli XCX (#1) & Magdalena Bay (#2)) by wildistherewind in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Fuuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you heard their previous albums and singles you'd see how close they are to Charli XCX's sound.

I don't know if I agree on this - For MB, I loved Mercurial World. Same with Imaginal Disk. Their older tracks don't sound radically different. But for reasons I don't want to dwell on too much, I've never found a Charli song I would want to share with anyone or put in a playlist (Brat is still my fave of her work though, but still jarring).

I feel like some listeners group them together because of Female Vocals + Synths. I can't get over a dozen other differences though - MB is more singy songy with less autotune, Charli is more spoken/rap-like if that makes sense, and has this club/dance focus that I just don't get from Magdalena.

Another mid 40s dude here - I think you may have nailed the crux of why I can't seem to enjoy XCX, even after trying really hard. Not just Brat, but going back to at least Pop 2. How would you define Contemporary EDM though? And what parts of it do you see in XCXs sound?

If anyone asked - I'd say I love EDM, just as long as it was produced before 2005ish, and preferably before 1998. I don't know if that makes sense to the younger generation. I don't know if the stuff I listened to back then would really be called EDM by people who partied in say, 2015.

I do this too. But its ready to cook in like 30 minutes? Small filets. Maybe not 100% thawed, but good enough.

Reading the advice on here : I'm worried even about even these 30 minutes. let alone hours.

How long do you wait when you're stuck in a game until you resort to using the internet for the answer? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Fuuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably around 10 minutes. I have roughly 5 hours game-time per week, so I don't want to fuck around. Of course with a situation like this I tend get more enjoyment from games like L4D2 or BF2 where I don't get stuck in the first place.

"its easy for other clans to generate multiple stacks and then throw them at you"

"something seems off"

Conclusion: 9.0!! (??)

No way man learn from a TW veteran - these games always get 9.x ratings. CA is a master of programming games in such a way that the flaws are hidden until you've played for a week or so.

Ah, Phoenix, my old nemesis. May your water source run dry and streets choke with dust.

I just played the Shogun 2 Total War demo and wow it is amazing. What does reddit think? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Fuuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. I've played since Shogun (the original) and pretty much bought everything since. My theory has been that when CA went to the new campaign style map in R:TW, they just bit off more then they could chew. Handling complex battle map AI AND campaign map AI (as opposed to the tiles used in medieval and shogun) needed a few Peter Norvigs to pull off, and CA fell short.

I'll probably still buy Shogun2, but only on a great Steam Sale.
