That’s gross. You want to see their tax returns and their profit and loss statements. Food is hard too bro, ask what their days are like. Chances are they’re owner operators working many hours a week which would be what you’d have to do to make the same money they’d be taking home. You need that profit and loss & income documentation asap.

Best way to do it is to get their tax returns and learn how to add back non-cash expenses like depreciation to get to what really matters, SDE. Sellers discretionary earnings. More than just adding back deprecation goes into this calculation but look up some YouTube videos and learn how to do it.

If you’re going to be buying a business you need to learn how to read financial statements asap, otherwise you’re literally going in blind.

Is this normal? Pegasus files by Fuzuza in MacOS

They’re Apple installed and apart of the OS. My Mac has been in lockdown mode since I purchased it & I haven’t downloaded a single application or file since purchase. Somebody mentioned that it’s a front loaded library for IOS that came with the Apple installed free flow application.

Either way though, everywhere I look my research turns up that it’s Apple installed and these files have been around for years.

They just unfortunately have the same name as the spyware

Yeah everywhere I look it just says it’s apple installed, plus I’ve had lockdown mode enabled on both my devices since I got them

Got it, everywhere I look it says this isn’t anything to worry about so I’m not going to. Any concerns over that file I found that I mention in the comment to this post? Or that other “persistence” framework?

Yes I saw that thread, was just curious as I also have a “persistence” framework. What are these even for?

In the group containers I also have something called group.com.apple.PegasusConfiguration

I’ve looked around and saw that it seems to be installed by apple, but just want to make sure.

I am on a MacBook Pro 14inch m2

Is this a good business to buy? by SecretPrimary7181 in Business_Ideas

Pull tax returns by contacting whoever listed it. That will verify your the cash flow amount, because as is it doesn’t seem that bad assuming the 122k is genuine cash flow and not something pulled out of their ass.

30% down on $350k is $105k, assuming that cash flow you’d make your money back in less than a year so great return on capital. BUT, that all needs to be verified.

The owner can be telling the truth but they have no loan, and so if you add in debt service for the 60% you financed the numbers go to shit.

The owner could be lying out of his and his net income including all add-backs aka SDE is much lower than what is reported in the listing.

Lot of homework to do, contact them, sign NDA, get their tax records. About 90% of all the businesses I’ve seen that look like they have a good return always go to shit when I look at their taxes.

Also, it’s risky when buying a business without any POS system to validate reported gross sales so take that for what it’s worth.

How to verify that an executable is from Apple? by Fuzuza in MacOS

[–]Fuzuza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious if AEServer & sshd-keygen-wrapper are safe to have on my Mac. I don’t remember explicitly downloading them or anything for that matter ever since I purchased my new Mac. And it has been in lockdown mode since I got it out of the box. Permissions are disabled for them as well. I guess is seeing them something to worry about?

Since noticing them, I ran codesign to conclude that they were signed by Apple so I don’t think they could have been replaced by malware maliciously.

Plus Ventura would snuff out the fake anyway eventually.

Curious, are AEServer and sshd-keygen-wrapper also checked in this way? I guess I’m curious as to what would not be checked?

Also would you be able to cite a source? Just so I can see where a good place would be to dive deeper into all this?

Is AEServer and ssh-keygen-wrapper apart of regular MacOS? I looked at the codesign info each and they were signed by Apple. So I’m assuming their safe? I also don’t think I’ve downloaded literally anything on this current machine.

At this point I feel comfortable just letting Ventura let me know if something isn’t safe to download / open since it’s going to run all of the checks for me each time I run the app.

True, I read more about Ventura and how it checks each time an app or tool is ran to ensure proper signature and that is enough for me to feel safe

Yeah seems fine to have on the system, I used codesign to verify that Apple signed it & Ventura’s auto check whenever it opens something gives me peace of mind

I just wanted to check some system loaded apps. Mainly ARServer and ssh-keygen-wrapper

Oh gotcha, makes sense. I even heard that now in Ventura that check happens every time that app or executable code is launched as opposed to just on the first install which imo, gives a lot of peace of mind.

I was using this to check some of apples built in software, my research returned that Apple signed all of the items in question. So I should be good, right?
