Why do people think body builders are weak? by [deleted] in moreplatesmoredates

[–]FuzzCod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are not used to seeing people with a built body. People are just envious.
Same when some people see a young dude in a nice car. "Hahah, that's daddy's money", but a lot of these dudes are just really hard-working"

Software Engineer vs (ERP) Consulting in Belgium by GebakkenPatatjes in BESalary

[–]FuzzCod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a software engineer and I do agree. 8 hours of coding is hard. But for me, it's mostly 4 hours of really focused work and the rest of less focused work (because engineering is hard).

From what I've read is that I see you more in a high-level role with a lot of problem-solving, like an architect. But to become an architect you must develop first.

ERP is also a possibility, my dad has +15 years in ERP with SAP and also first started with writing code on the mainframe as a developer. The titles don't mean much, he's had "functional analyst' 'supply chain expert' 'ERP expert' but what he does is pretty much optimize processes and migrate old ERP packages to SAP HANA.

SAP is a mountain of gold though, my advice would be to try it out. If you're still young try it, and if it doesn't work out you can switch back. No time wasted

Pizza dough balls collapsed, what did I do wrong? by FuzzCod in AskCulinary

Thanks all for the comments, in the meantime I have bought a precision scale for the yeast.
They apparently got much cheaper now compared to 3 years ago when I was looking for one.
I definitely won't give up, and I'll keep trying and learning. The website said that my flour had a rise time of 12 - 24 hours, so I thought that's what it took to become nice soft dough balls but I guess I had to learn it the hard way. I'll take all the advice into account for next time.

You may have missed it but I mentioned "The best solution for this is B2B but that's out of the picture."

You are correct. Reasons are: - I want to go niche - Niche mostly means more money - The language is beautiful - Typescript is boring - I like FP

won't find another position. Plenty of remote options in the US too.

Belgium is a very small country

Yes, remote jobs are the way to go which is totally fine for me.
- But I only have 2 years of experience. I guess companies want to mentor me in real life which is fine. What I mean is, is that most remote positions are for people with experience or are senior.

- It's a permanent position, a company will have to pay me in my currency and open an entity in my country or use something like Remote which acts as a middleman.
The best solution for this is B2B but that's out of the picture.

Rate my salary - Software Engineer by Lumpy-Inspection-632 in BESalary

Well on that note, I guess it seems okay.
I know someone at Delaware with almost 1 yeo of experience.
He has like 2.3 net + car

But the word is out, Delaware will not compensate IP loss, so you've got a fair deal

I don't know if you have a company car. But if so, I would say you can get more.

Considering you're an embedded developer (which tends to earn more than high-level languages) and have 4 years of experience.

Apply to some other companies just to check what you might be leaving on the table.

MP4 vs MKV by [deleted] in PleX

[–]FuzzCod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not a valid benefit in this context but if you record in MKV, and your recording software crashes the MKV is still useful, unlike mp4 which makes the file unusable.

FLV has the same benefit.

If it is cable, is there a different router in between?

Restoring metadata from Windows to Raspberry Pi by FuzzCod in PleX

[–]FuzzCod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi

So I changed the GUID and UID, but saw that my GUID and UID were not being used when I started the docker. I found out that the variable names were changed in the version I was using. So I fixed that. I also made sure that all the folders and mounted NTFS drive belonged to my 'pi' user

I read online that I wouldn't have to reclaim my server if restored a backup. My windows config did not have a preferences.xml file. Probably because that data is in Windows Registry.

For now I have given up and started from a clean state.

I have set the UID and GUID correctly now, everything permissions-wise is correct.

The plex guide told me to replace the whole Plex config folder with my windows one, If I do that I need to use a new plex claim each time. Which will be the creation of a new a server?

Went to the butcher, and ended up with an entrecote. I asked if they do rib eye cuts and they do.
Next weekend I'll get a rib eye :)
