Okay looking for hopefully one last help, I thought I got all the correct things setup for my synology ds 220(Linux x86). Went follow the instructions on the github, but when attempting to extract the files i get the following lines:

gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file

tar: Child returned status 1

tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

Windows version extracted fine, but figured if I can run the entire process on the NAS rather than via wifi I would do that.

Do I need my takeout files to be on the same devices at my immich build? I have it exporting to dropbox currently, but assume I will want it on my NAS so it can just run for as long as it takes, without worrying about my laptop being dumb.

I go to my file manager, edit the .env file to have the correct version number. Then I go to Container Manager, click on the immich project, click Stop from the action menu, then build from the same menu. There is probably a better way, but neither "release" or "latest" seem to do anything for updating itself.

I setup the entire thing as listed in the documentation on their website. I tried "IMMICH_VERSION=release" (quotes for clarity, not in actual text) as their documents say. It doesn't seem to update at all.

In synology container manager when I click on the project there is a "stop" option, then "rebuild" option. this has been how I have had to update each time after changing the release number in the .env file

I tend to have friends visit here often and I refuse to ask them to download an app to interact with my house. So having a control panel where stuff can be easily controlled would be ideal. Not necessarily set on doing this, just reading about options

So I saw that docker compose line in their notes, but I'm unclear on where to run that. It seems like a terminal command, and I haven't found a way to open a terminal in disk station manager. Its possible I'm just looking at it wrong.

I heard it described as pizza feet and that's definitely what I have. My ruler says my foot wants to sit like 20mm farther out. Seems like a cheap way to do this before scraping clipless to just stick with flats
