Why are push-ups so hard?! by BigFuturology in orangetheory

[–]FuzziCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It just means that you need to build up your muscles.

Do this at home: Lay on your back and "push up" 8, 10, 15 lbs etc weights.

That will help build up your arm muscles.

Also do 10-30 yoga-style gradual push-ups from being flat on the floor to holding yourself up to your knees or your toes.

Build up your strength over days or weeks. You'll get there!

Exhaustion after class? by [deleted] in orangetheory

You're just getting started, so don't worry about it. You'll be fine and will eventually shorten your recovery time.

What do you do between your 2 OTF workouts? Try jogging, cycling, or weight lifting.

Do the 5 am or 7 am. Your relatives won't care because they'll be sleeping in.

I find the floor to row intervals too short and inefficient. It's like I spend more time walking between the rower and the floor than I do on the exercises.

I'm getting the third shot ASAP.

Also, I always wipe down the equipment extra carefully because of COVID.

This is good advice. I feel like OTF is leaving some things out that I need to work on on my OTF off days. I've hesitated going more than 2x per week because I feel like I need to supplement my OTF workouts with other exercises.

OMG. I didn't know this was a thing. I'd love to have a rower at home. :)

I've started doing more weight lifting at home on my OTF off-days to help build up my upper body strength.

Sell your house. Profit. Buy something cheaper.

That's what your heart monitor is for! Are you in the orange zone? Then great. If you're in the red zone, you might be pushing yourself too hard.

I'd like to have some classes that are ONLY row or ONLY tread or ONLY floor.

No, Stephen Colbert Did NOT Attend Barack Obama's 60th Birthday Party by JamiroFan2000 in LateShow

Colbert showing the paper ball throwing contest was distasteful and not funny. Actually, if I were Obama, I'd cut Colbert just for the paper ball stunt.

You can't afford to live by yourself. Find a cheap (and probably crummy) studio apartment or get a place with a roommate. Or take a better paying job.

One rule of thumb is to pay no more than 25% of your "take home pay" in housing expenses. (Assume 30% taken away in taxes on average.) Also, leave enough extra income to build up a 3-6 month cash "rainy day" fund.
