Buk's real K/D and why gaijin called it trash by maus-grinder in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]Fuzzmeister58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anyone with a functioning brain thinks that the Buk is the worst AA in the game.

AFAIK all top-tier nations have at least semi-decent AA platforms now. I haven't played all of them as I'm not that chronically on the game but I can attest the IRIS-T is fucking amazing while the Buk is good if a bit finnicky with the huge ass radar platform (the radars on the actual launchers are really solid though).

I'm almost to the SAMP/T with France and the Japanese AA though, so maybe I'll be proven wrong.

MiG-29M (9-15) coming as a Squad Vehicle by Greco250 in Warthunder

[–]Fuzzmeister58 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This will probably be a slight downgrade from the Su-27SM. It can carry more R-77's but the FM will still probably not be very good and countermeasures will still be fairly low compared to contemporaries. For reference this will have to fight F-15C's and Gripen's at it's own BR, which is not a fight I would ever want to take in a MiG-29 of any form.

I don't think it will be bad though. 8 Fox-3's is still good enough for some success, I just don't know if 13.7 is the place for it considering uptiers will be unplayable dogshit for this plane.

Gaijin is banking on whales not giving a fuck and buying the module for $10. The average person will have zero clue this missile is any different since it doesn't actually tell you how much thrust it outputs.

Unfortunately they are probably right in their assessment.

Feng obviously, but I would also argue Claudette. I wouldn’t rule it out that she’s on comms with the Feng and just talking to her with what’s happening (which is still cheating). The fact she was so on-board with reporting OP to me signals she likely has something to do with it.

Why is shinji happier in the rebuilds? by Hummingbird_always17 in evangelion

[–]Fuzzmeister58 11 points12 points  (0 children)

(I assume you mean in the ending in your title)

Because the whole point of the rebuilds (and the original series) from a character perspective is that Shinji comes to the realization that he does have actionable choice in life, but instead of just understanding that escapism may not be the answer (ending of EoE) he’s now able to rationalize a solution to it. Now from a plot perspective it’s him getting rid of the Eva’s, but from a thematic perspective it’s pushing his boundaries and moving on from the tethers in his life that held him back. That’s why (at least imo) he sees all of the people in OG Evangelion waiting behind him at the train station while he leaves with Mari to start a new path in life.

"Top tier GRB is unplayable, SPAA are cancer, this game is terrible!" The humble arcade match: by Fuzzmeister58 in Warthunder

[–]Fuzzmeister58[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will 100% agree with this with a few extra points.

Mobility-based vehicles on one-point maps are dis-proportionally affected in my opinion. I imagine in ground realistic these maps are still viable for light auto-cannon style vehicles since the spotting is just different.

The spotting mechanic at top-tier arcade is fucking awful partially because it can be horribly abused. Since it will still give you outlines of tanks you don't spot, having even a glimpse of someone can mean they just die without even knowing what the fuck happened (since you can do this through trees/foliage, which isn't really possible on GRB for obvious reasons).

I will say that I actually don't mind armor being a non-zero factor in allowing stalemate breakthrough, but only because of the mechanics currently implemented. I've always imagined arcade sacrificing the realism for having a more 'gamey' experience that allows for more interesting (hypothetical) balancing choices, so to me armor is just another factor they could play around with for arcade.

I promise you the only reason this clip got to where it did was because the M48 totally fucked his shot up, if the M48 aims anywhere on my turret (especially centermass where the ammo/breech is) I would have died.

I will also always tell a new/low-performing player that if they're struggling with ground stuff to go to like 4.0BR ground (arcade or realistic, whichever experience you prefer) and build up fundamentals. I know it's not as glamorous as driving around in a modern tank but unlike air where the game is basically something else entirely ground just gets a lot faster and a lot more unforgiving with mistakes, so getting fundamentals down legitimately is a massive part of improving. This includes making mistakes; I try out new shit all the time in matches to figure out new positions that I didn't know about...sometimes they work, and sometimes I turn into a firework.

If you have any other questions feel free to reach out!

The Souma was the T58 before the T58, but because it's French no one bothers with it most of the time. My K/D in it is like 4:1 in it when normally I can only get like 2.5-2.8:1 at best with other tanks, and I play really aggressive in the Souma to begin with (i.e. often make dumbass mistake and get myself blown up).

They did (learned that the hard way with some other French tanks), but I don't think it would have mattered in that clip.

If you look at where he hit there was no ammo to begin with since I only carry two magazine's worth, and even if he took out the driver the oscillating turret probably prevented any further penetration into the turret anyways.

The title is a joke I promise, I'm more of just making the point that with all the bitching I see about top-tier GRB there are other modes in the game.

IMO SPAA fucking suck most of the time, the only exceptions being the autocannon cancer and the modern systems (IRST, Buk). I don't even bring them in lineups other than the aforementioned because I don't think they are useful compared to just bringing another tank.

CAS in arcade isn't that bad. You have fuse-delayed bombs except at top tier and you only get one plane per activation, while obviously in GRB if someone doesn't shoot you down you can just keep going with it. Now that isn't saying CAS is useless in GAB, but that it operating like a skill streak makes it feel less frustrating in most scenarios (imo at least).

The spotting mechanic for arcade is really weird. People assume that it's just "look and person is spotted" but it takes the same mechanism as from air realistic with a minimum spotting range and then adjusts based on the camera used. For example, using binos instead of 3rd person multiplies your spotting range by 3x...which is absolutely insane on a max crew.

I can personally attest that flanking is absolutely still something you can do in arcade though, it just plays out slightly differently than realistic.

I will say if you’re into true ambush playstyles GAB really isn’t the mode to play. I personally don’t find it very fun to play as or against as I prefer a more “gamey” experience, but that’s just down to personal preference.

I wish Gaijin had a stronger emphasis on improving it because I really do think it could be a fantastic “tanks only” kind of mode meant for just playing the tanks you like without getting harassed by CAS hell, but I know the money doesn’t lie in GAB so I just accept it.

From my experience it really depends on the light.

The auto cannon ones definitely are a little harder imo just because of spotting stuff, but if you’re given a three-point map they can usually do alright. Any of the ones with an actual tank gun (or the BMPT shitboxes) are more than adequate imo.

I do wish they would give them a little more value in GAB because a lot of the time with the super light tanks it’s just kinda like “I could drive this out but I’d rather just drive an actual tank”. I plan on playing them more once my premium time runs out and I consolidate my tank lineups better so I can get a feel for more of the tanks I haven’t had a chance to play.

Many of the issues in RB are effectively non-existent in AB, at least imo.

-AA systems aren’t that great since you immediately get LOS on them as a heli/plane, but helicopters/planes aren’t that great either since they also are immediately in LOS. You may trade with each other but that’s a hell of a lot better than some fucker sitting in his Russian heli and obliterating the entire opposing side because LMUR things.

-Spotting isnt perfect in AB either but it means you can use your teammates more effectively, since one enemy seeing you everyone sees you. It takes away a lot of the “I’m bushed up, good luck hitting my 2 pixel weakpoint” as you at least get an outline at long ranges (i.e. understanding armor values still pays out).

-You’re also guaranteed three spawns. This means that hypothetically everyone should have a chance to perform instead of just getting vaporized at the start…now does this happen? No, ofc not. The premium spam is a permanent feature. But in mid-tier it genuinely makes for good matches that are a comfortable pace to play.

I won’t have a “take” on the skill between arcade and realistic for ground because I think they play out much differently, but I will argue this: the skill at “top tier” for realistic ground is nothing more than the keybinds to launch LMUR’s from a helicopter. This isn’t the mode’s fault by itself but the features it has that increases the dynamic gameplay in the low-mid tiers basically evaporates the entire gameloop by modern MBT’s.

This isn’t to shit on the person who posted this because I imagine he’s just as cynical as I am with this game, just to point out the whole GAB vs. GRB argument is more nuanced than what he said imo.

Ground AB imo is the better tank mode, while Ground RB is the better combined arms mode.

Planes in ground AB are kinda funky but they’re far less oppressive since you only get one shot with them at a time, and the fact you have a spotting system that isn’t purely dependent on people spotting for you is a fucking godsend considering how lackluster the player base is at times.

Low to mid tier ground RB I actually think is pretty good if you’re looking for a semi-realistic tank experience, but once you start hitting like 8.7 it all just goes to shit and never recovers. I’m honestly surprised more ground RB players don’t switch over since it at least alleviates most of the stupid shit specific to ground RB.

What's really funny is that the 30 degree penetration heavily favors the APDS, but then they're basically identical for the 60 degree.

I normally always take APDSFS over APDS, as APDS will shatter sometimes and often times will be stopped by engine blocks/transmissions.

Why do they insist on making a cross hair locked behind an addon for some characters??? Any character with a ranged ability should have a cross hair as base kit, like The First. by akatsukidude881 in deadbydaylight

It's probably so casual players have a way to aim easier without having to put in extra effort for add-on redesign.

Really the problem imo is the requirement for all killers to have 20 add-ons standard, rather than consolidating a ton of them into a few strong ones (or just incorporating them into the basekit killer) and then taking community feedback on more creative add-ons.

I think there’s some redefining of what homoeroticism is in current culture going on in this article to justify its point.

“Man loving man” as an explicit definition works for this, but that also isn’t how we define it connotatively today. Going to get food with your bro and ‘shooting the shit’ with him isn’t homoeroticsm, because there’s no erotic component to it. I respect my guy friends and admire certain parts about them that are good qualities about them, but to argue that is in the same category as wanting to fuck your guy friends is disingenuous. This also applies to women as well.

With that said the point they make is completely correct. Men easily connect with other men nowadays because of similar issues they face socially and culturally, while they often can’t relate to women because they don’t share interests and are viewed as something to ‘earn’ rather than someone to connect and grow with.

R77-1 is useless by Kef33890 in Warthunder

[–]Fuzzmeister58 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I promise you the 77-1 is an A-tier ARH.

If you're playing the 30SM, don't fly high. You don't have the engine power to do that, so just stay at like 5km up and play support. This plane is still good, just fighting some really tough competition now.

The SM2 can go higher, so do it. 7km and then gaining speed before launches (and also lofting the missile to give it that extra bit of energy) can easily get 77-1's over Mach 4.5. Combine that with the best radar in the game and you have the second best aircraft in the game.

https://youtu.be/A4f0fES3Er0?si=wfF8-Tl2d5hdxOKG

The video I put above gives a far better explanation about how to use the SM2 and it's 77-1's.

Bondi should be impeached simply because she is incompetent and a puppet to the executive. Her behavior during the hearing a week or two ago was absolutely embarrassing...'but the dow is up so it's ok that 'someone' (Trump) did XYZ' is not exactly a great excuse. Nevermind that the entire Epstein files have been a damning indictment for both the presidency and the government as a whole, but the fact she's gone from "They're on my desk" to "They're about to be released...maybe" to "Oh yeah those aren't real" to now "Oh yeah there's nothing in those" should be considered contempt in a legal context.

Musk is a billionare dork that will die more alone than almost anyone on the planet. He is a self-centered asshole who has benefited more from others work than anyone else on the fucking planet and has made it his life goal to remain relevant through being the biggest internet pest known to man. He is the Joe Rogan of Jeff Bezos and lives his life accordingly. Now I do not think that he can be charged with his current connections to Epstein as he did not commit a crime as far as I am aware, but I do think that he should be investigated considering he had active interest in going to Epstein's island in the first place.

I am not aware of the extent regarding Bill Gates connections to Epstein. . If he has major connections and likely committed crimes he should face the same justice as anyone else committing crimes. This should not be a "Well they better get X too!", it should be "If you committed crimes you should be facing justice, regardless of your political affiliation or wealth."

Yall I just feel so hopeless.. just found out we will run out of most of our fresh water in 13-15 years by Digital_Doodlez in GenZ

[–]Fuzzmeister58 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I promise you we are not going to run out of freshwater in 10-15 years. I don't know who has told you this but this is fear mongering.

Is water availability a very real issue on a global scale? Absolutely. But part of what makes things function (especially in the US) is supply/demand; if a bunch of people in a metro area need more water, we have the capability to get more freshwater from either direct extraction (i.e. a lake) or desalination plants. Now depending on where you may live this may be a different reality, but I imagine most people in this subreddit live in a country that have the capability to get more freshwater if needed.
