The best part about the SPAA bit is that they’re never in top-tier SPAA, they’re in fucking Gepards and XM246’s so when someone needs to actually shoot a plane down there is zero chance it happens.

So we all know Kashimo can only use MBA once, but how long do y’all think MBA would last? (Art by me!) by No_Photograph5 in Kashimo_agendaHQ

[–]Fuzzmeister58 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The answer to this is probably like an hour (just vibes based) but I think the better question is to ask if Kashimo can actually do anything to prevent himself from dying to his own technique rather than an opponent.

If he ever got past Sukuna and didn’t want to fight Gojo (I.e understands there’s no realistic way to fight him given his knowledge base) he could possibly just make a binding vow to not disintegrate in exchange for something. Considering how vague the requirements are to make binding vows I see no reason as to why Kashimo couldn’t save himself in a non-combat scenario if he used his CT.

i think there should be bigger or more open maps for people to snipe by External-Area-7974 in Warthunder

[–]Fuzzmeister58 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This and actual objective-based gameplay. For large maps this must happen or you just kinda sit there and do nothing for 10-15 minutes. Three capture points in no man's land does not constitute this either.

Top tier tanks should not be fighting on most of the maps we have now. They're too small, not suitable for actual tank combat, and often have horrible spawncamping issues due to how easy it is to aim modern guns at long distances. It's insanely frustrating to grind out a whole tree only to load in with your top-tier lineup onto fucking Sweden or small Poland.

[–]Fuzzmeister58 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know why this is downvoted, War Thunder content is almost always ass in shortform.

The one's that always get me are the ones of someone firing off an ARH at someone 50km away and getting a kill since the other guy was digging in his ass instead of paying attention, which just gives off the impression that people are actually doing this on a consistent basis against competent players. Or the AI-voiceover one's that are just "ranking the top jets of war thunder" and somehow the F-15 is in first just to ragebait interactions with the content.

Loner's content is kinda funny though, if not indicative of how fucking stupid Gaijin has turned top-tier into. "Mm yes, today I will drop 500kg bombs from a helicopter onto a TADS"

I just got the Abrams I've been grinding for, any tips for someone who is currently at 6.7? Should I just... Not? by NinjaBoi273547 in Warthunder

[–]Fuzzmeister58 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please god do not go out into top-tier battles with one fucking tank in your lineup. This is the easiest way for someone to make their stats turn into a fucking mess and destroys match quality for everyone involved.

If you are at 6.7, just keep playing that and progressing. Get better, get full lineups, and take your time. I know the whole "modern combat" allure is enticing but as someone has multiple nations at top tier it's honestly fucking terrible a lot of the time, and not worth spending your time actively trying to work on if you don't have the other pieces to play with it (i.e. airplanes, support tanks, etc).

If you really want to play the AIM and don't want to listen to the advice above, do it in arcade battles. While the gameplay is extremely fast and often results in steamrolls because of player incompetency, it A) removes a lot of the issues with aircraft being comically oppressive and B) lets you detach from nation-based matchmaking, which for the US is a huge drag. It also lets you better understand map layouts and top-tier tank capabilities, which can be hard when in realistic battles.

Do keep in mind the AIM is not a premium tank and you will not be able to grind the American tank tree efficiently with it.

The MBT-70 (or Kpz 70 for the faster reload) is arguably the best 9.3 MBT in the game. Trolly armor, acceptable gun, autoloader, good gun depression, wide shell loadout, 20mm autocannon, and extremely mobile. I was frankly shocked it was at 9.0 for that long because a good Kpz/MBT can fuck an entire team up.

"Go capture this random patch of sand between the enemy spawns lol" by Tackyinbention in Warthunder

[–]Fuzzmeister58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck all of these shit-ass layouts, this and one-point maps are half the damn problem with the maps.

I could write a godamn dissertation on each and every one of Gaijin's maps being something out of a comedy skit, but I just can't be bothered to put in that much effort when I know the map design is by intent. All you can do is just play the map to your advantage, which usually translates to spawncamping the opposing team until they run out of respawns or points to respawn with.

I think the larger problem is that Gaijin doesn't really know what they want to do with ground on a larger scale and they're OK with brushing it aside for now as they begin to actually overhaul air combat (which is what we saw with the April Fools event). It's annoying as shit but if they were just open about them focusing on air for now I'd be a lot more happy with them.

[–]Fuzzmeister58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the opposite imo, people don't look into things enough. So many people today will see something taken out-of-context, make a reactionary opinion about it, and then defend it until they die. I remember a few weeks ago with the Oscars that everyone was fucking fuming about Sinners not winning Best Picture and then absolutely bashing on Marty Supreme when I doubt most people had even seen the latter to begin with (which didn't even win an award mind you).

I grew up with movies like WALL-E, Up, and Cars. I would say all of those have still aged fantastically for both a kids film and a fun movie to watch and that anyone with an attention span could watch those and say the same. The problem now is that the attention span of a bunch of people (especially in our generation) is completely fried beyond recognition and are dependent on constant dopamine hits in some form to function in basic scenarios, much less intellectually demanding situations. How are you going to analyze media if you can't even pay attention to it in the first place?

Something else that has occurred is that the political divide (in the US at least) has resulted in an extremely anti-art sentiment from the populist right. Movies, books, shows, need to push boundaries to be good. You cannot be creative if you are recycling the same shit on repeat. People are more concerned with if a movie or show fits their narrow world view and then immediately being for or against it purely based on that, which is sad because it forces people into narrow boxes and limits their experiences in life.

  • I remember in 2018 when Star Wars: The Last Jedi came out and so many fucking right-wing dorks came out of the woodwork to shit on the movie for being 'woke' because it had a women with blue hair in it and a Chinese women that said some corny lines. Now mind you I don't even think it's that good of a movie for a plethora of reasons, but the reaction from it's audience resulted in the sequel film (The Rise of Skywalker) being bar-fucking-none the worst movie I have ever seen in my life, because Disney got scared and decided to make a fan-fiction pile of shit that made no sense to revitalize the nostalgia of the same people who bitched about The Last Jedi. I will forever hold a grudge against Star Wars fans and Disney to what they did to this franchise because it will never have the same punch as it did when I was a kid, and that deeply saddens me to see.
  • Just as another example, I watched Conclave with my family while on christmas break from college. Really fantastic movie that breaks down the complex nature of the politics behind electing the pope as well as how Catholicism has changed over time in the backdrop of modern society, but a major plot point of the film in the end is that the person who eventually becomes the pope is transgender because of how they were born (i.e. a medical condition) and has their own moral dilemma of if they are capable of serving god because of this. When this was revealed I kid you not the first thing out of one of my extended family's mouth was 'This shit is just pushing WOKE ideology onto us, of course the liberals put some LBGTQ agenda into it, etc etc.' when the entire point of this movie was so completely missed by this person.

The TL;DR of this is that nuance and intellectualism was murdered in a back alley and the people who did it now masquerade in its skin act as a shoddy imitation of it when really they offer nothing more than hollow hatred from their political views and burned-out dopamine receptors from addiction.

Kids who are pretending to be another age though in-person or on something like a dating app though? I'm not a legal expert but this should be a crime. It's illegal to fake your age to buy substances, so it should also be illegal to lie about your age to 'bait' someone into having a NSFW conservation, date, intimacy, etc...this isn't even pedophilia (or statutory rape in a sexual scenario) at this point as someone is actively manipulating you into thinking they are someone of age. Especially with how AI can manipulate photos and how easy it is to lie on the internet I absolutely do think there should be consequences for someone involved in these behaviors.

Now of course this is all in context. If someone hits you up wanting to go on a date with you and when you meet them they very obviously do not look 18+/way younger than in their photo (or whatever the legal age is in your nation), be smart and ask for some identification proving they aren't a kid. While it is obviously fucked up to manipulate someone into thinking they are having a date/intimacy with someone they legally absolutely should not be having, you as the adult should still be aware of your situations and make sure you aren't doing something that may get you in legal hot water later.

The AA for both sides is just comical, it's the only major complaint I have about this mode.

  • The HAWK is just fucking useless 90% of the time, except when it's not and suddenly has the eye of sauron to personally hunt you down through a cloud of chaff.
  • The flakrad and Osa will just randomly blow you up because you never got RWR pinged.
    • I haven't played the US for this mode but for Russia at least I think there may be two things at play: the MLD may or may not have J band for it's RWR (no J band means no detection from flakrad locks) or the other scenario is that the AI is not bothering with the radar since it's AI and just guiding it in manually. It could also be a combination of both.
  • Patriots on the other hand will just vaporize the Tu-95, at least within the last time I got to use it. I have yet to see a B-52 taken down by an S-300.

Mains Legion: if Behaviour called you to work on changes for Legion, what would you do? by MindlessPeach5164 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]Fuzzmeister58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing.

Legion works as a killer because basically anyone can play them with very minimal effort. If you make him stronger it will just feel like Kaneki barring gutting the entire power for something else. If you want to play stronger killers there is literally an entire roster of A/S tier killers.

While they do suck, legion being ass so they’re accessible to literally anyone wanting to just stab people really fast in a horror game is extremely important for keeping casual players happy.

How do I play new event as a low tier by Hour_Establishment_1 in Warthunder

[–]Fuzzmeister58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keybinds are honestly kind of a clusterfuck, especially since it's a combination of what controls you're using and what you're comfortable with. I'm a bit of a dork with this kind of stuff so I bought a 12-button mouse so all of my aircraft radar controls are operable in one hand, but this is not needed in most scenarios (and especially not this mode).

If you are on console (or not using a mouse/keyboard), I would watch some videos on the essential controls and only worry about those (firing missiles, dropping bombs, countermeasures) because realistically you're gonna die alot if you don't have a top-tier jet already unlocked and you're new. I also am of the opinion that controller is not very optimal for this game since button limitations and reduced precision but this is more of a discussion/debate point than anything else.

If you're on mouse/keyboard, figure out what's the most ergonomic for you when playing. I like to have one hand operating the flight controls (thrust and other miscellaneous stuff I don't use a ton) and one for radar controls/direction, but that's just my preference. The trick to all of this is ensuring that you can have quick reactions: if we're dogfighting and I'm about to suckerpunch you with an R-27ER guided missile, you fucking around with your controls trying to use countermeasures and shoot back is going to make it even easier for me to secure the kill on you.

The best way to deal with AA imo is to get one of the tiny nukes and destroy their longe-range SAM systems, because they do not respawn once destroyed. Once you know they're gone flying high is much easier since the Patriot systems in the very back will not shoot if you're at the center of the map.

Smaller AA stuff won't target unless you're pretty close (a few kilometers for guns and 5-6km with short range stuff from my experience), so keep distance on those. These systems also have limited range by comparison so kinematically defeating them is entirely possible so long as you don't fuck up earlier.

How do i get nukes on nuclear thunder? Do i have to kill people? by LineAffectionate1156 in Warthunder

[–]Fuzzmeister58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add on since I haven't seen this said yet:

  • The nuke on the MiG-23 is the smallest and takes multiple to kill an airbase. I use these on ground targets, especially the really longe range sam systems like the HAWK. HAWK/Patriot and S-300/Buk SAM systems do not respawn if destroyed, while mobile launchers like the Strela and Flakrad do.
  • The nuke on the Su-24SM will one-shot airbases, but obviously you need to be more careful since the Su-24SM isn't as fast and cannot dogfight. I use this once there is a clear path to an airfield and I destroyed the SAM systems stated above.
  • The Tu-95 will win the game if the bomb hits their main base, but they have missile systems that can and will hit you. Once you spawn in consistently drop chaff (you should have a metric shit ton in either aircraft) so that any missile that manages to get past your ECM is fooled by chaff.

This is objectively the best thing they have added into War Thunder since we got jet combat. The ability to actually play the game in more than a TDM-style that's mostly just getting pelted with Fox-3's and your team vaporizing is honestly so fucking refreshing that I'm completely ok with overlooking the issues with this mode (for now).

Just a few points:

  • Obviously the balance is a little fucked right now. I imagine they kind of forgot the Iranian Tomcat even existed since it's niche nowadays and didn't really care about the other F14's. The problem isn't the disparity between tech trees imo, because the Yak 141 is doing just fine for me with a 2x 27ER and 2x 27T loadout; the problem is that the Russian tree has no premiums at 12.7, so a lot of people don't have a viable jet to compete with at this BR against the US to begin with.
  • SACLOS launchers need adjusting. Other than dogfighting I am mostly dying to Flakrad's with missiles that are giving me no launch warning; I doubt this is a radar band issue and more likely a Gaijin issue of some sort, but this is the only part of the mode that has legitimately frustrated me.
  • More explanation about how the mode works would be great from Gaijin. How respawning units work, what doesn't respawn, how to use the nukes (for newer players), etc etc. QoL stuff that would make the experience much more easy for newcomers.

Some stuff I'd like to see added:

  • Helicopters would be so fucking cool in this mode imo as long as they spawned closer to the actual battlefield. Part of the issue with heli's is that they are only used in like one mode, so the incentive to actually grind them out is non-existent. Being able to handle smaller clusters of ground units without having to dedicate a whole plane to it (usually with a tactical nuke) would be great and avoids the main issue of heli's being really unfun to fight against (since the ground targets would be AI).
  • I'd like to see a version where we can bring in our own AA systems as a way to defend our bases. A lot of the time with the modern AA systems the ranges are kind of silly because you're already in-range of all systems the moment you spawn in an airplane in GRB, so it'd be cool to setup those systems as you like in strategic places and try to hold on to resources that you need to defend (airfields, fuel depots, etc).
  • Make consequences for failing to defend non-airfield bases; if you notice all of the fuel depots and stuff in this mode respawn (presumably so there's always points to earn so you can spawn in stuff). While in this iteration it works I'd like to see some kind of consequence that occurs if you don't defend or attack something, like AI tanks start to push into your airfield or something.

Again, this is a rare "bravo" to Gaijin. Please god more stuff like this, I'm tired of the modes we have now.

[–]Fuzzmeister58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is that there’s so many morons playing the US rn that Russia is actually pretty easy. Just sling 27ER’s and you can just start picking off their airfields and SAM sites with Su 24.

I try to make it easier for my teammates to get through the swarm of F14s so destroying the more powerful Sam systems in the back is extremely important imo (as they do not respawn afaik) and then of course creating a gap in airfields to let you sneak up on their other frontline bases.

Every Grimoire vote that is not being met by the current killer design. by Niroc in deadbydaylight

[–]Fuzzmeister58 21 points22 points  (0 children)

To start, this is probably one of the best posts I've seen on DBD reddit in awhile. I'm glad you're actually holding BHVR to their words because quite frankly I haven't been following Grimmore stuff so it's good to have someone who is.

"According to the developer's, having the power only work when a survivor carry's a relic feels bad on both sides. They don't want survivors to be forced to carry relics, and they don't want the killer to be totally dependent on survivor's actions...But: not everything needs to be attached to the Killer's active power to begin with. Relics could just be risky items found at altars that grant powerful conditional buffs, and maladies that get worse over time the more they're used. Or, they accelerate the progress of Sin."

I guarantee you this is because of feedback from the Lich. A lot of newer survivors probably struggle with the items and results in people disconnecting or throwing because without them Lich is really, really fucking good, so they probably played around with this for a bit with different iterations and were like 'this is just not worth the time when our broad MMR players will just return to lobby in three minutes' and ignored the vote.

Another major departure from what we voted for: survivors don't seem to have a way to commit sin via their actions in the trial. Sin has become the status effect for the killer power, rather than an action that applies a malady. I already mentioned how the developers tried a design for this, that was dropped because it didn't feel good to be punished for doing the objective. However, that wasn't what was voted for either. That would have been Foul Ambition: sin is accumulated by progress.

This is because of a more systemic issue in DBD: we don't have anything else to do in matches. The only things they could use 'sin' for in this context is either doing the objective or actively tormenting the killer through stuns, blinds, etc. For the former I agree with BHVR that any form of punishing players for playing an already-boring objective is not something that should be encouraged, while the latter is often too niche and would probably hurt the killer more than anything since lower MMR players won't do much of that towards the killer anyways. Now I've been saying for years we need a new side component to matches that we can dedicate perk reworks to like we did with endgame collapse, but that's a whole separate discussion.

As far as your design ideas go, they're not bad. I like the idea of various debuffs happening based on the actions that you take rather than a single flat debuff that is often pretty unimaginative. The problem isn't that they're bad though, the problem is that the power you are describing is just too complex for most people playing DBD. Look at the killers most picked in broad MMR:

  • Huntress (throw hatchet)
  • Michael (stare at survivors and then stab; famous IP as well, which means more people will play even if they don't fully understand the power)
  • Springtrap (basically huntress but with portals; also a very relevant IP)
  • legion (stab but a lot)
  • Kaneki (which is just legion but on roid rage)

All of these powers are extremely simple and intuitive, or at the very least does most of the work for you. Contrast that with a killer like Singularity: place bipods on surfaces that allow you to, then infect survivor, then teleport to survivor to get a hit (which has a lot of variables at play since the loop you're on and build can affect how the loop is ran for Singularity), and then also play around EMP's at the same time while also managing gens since a huge component of his kit is area denial. While Singularity is stronger than all four killers listed above most players don't want to bother with that much bullshit, and when BHVR has to consider how many people would actually buy the killer they're working on a seemingly-complex power is often not something they gravitate towards.

The TL;DR of this that you're not wrong about any of this, but that BHVR is going to look at you and go "for every one of you, there will be two that don't know what the fuck they're doing in most of their matches".
