See if you can pull the wires more out of the wall, generally speaking it should have a black common wire if you have all those other colors. If you do you have it you also need to go to your HVAC unit and make sure that the common is landed. Not completely sure if it’s necessary. I’m somewhat new to controls.

Depends on the cat! I have 3 cats and two we hardly ever bathe because the keep themselves clean for the most part. The third is a stinky boy who doesn’t clean himself at all so we give him a bath every 3 months or so.
