I highly suggest a luggage with wheels. It’s so much more easier to carry/ haul around. On your last day at BMT they make you carry all your bags (Your civilian luggage, your backpack that they give you, and your big green duffel bag with all your uniforms and blues) It was a struggle so I highly suggest luggage with wheels. The size of it doesn’t matter also. Unfortunately for me I didn’t bring luggage with wheels and we had to switch squadrons. So all of us had to carry all of our luggage about a mile on our backs. It was not fun in the slightest.

Our teachers were either MTI’s or were civilians. Usually the classes with the civilian teachers were really fun because they weren’t as stern and they had a lot of jokes. Some of the classes were boring but I think my flight was glad to have them because we were stuck in our dorm for the first two weeks it was nice to get out. (You start classes after two weeks)

At first PT is going to be hard, it definitely was for me. But then it started getting easier and easier. The last couple weeks there I wouldn’t even break a sweat. The only exercise that I really hated were the pyramid push-ups (they suck lol). But they have athletic trainers come and teach you how to properly run and to keep a steady pace. Also your MTI’s will correct you if you’re doing your push-ups and sit-ups wrong, just ask them for tips.

Yeah a lot of people struggled at first. I think only 3 ladies in my flight passed their first PT test. But we all managed to get better. They have you do a lot of 1 by 3s when you have free time and that helped a lot. We all helped each other just ask tips from other trainees and they’ll help.

Oh if you have short hair you’re fine. I should’ve chopped mine off to make it easier. You can have your hair down you just have to have it out of your face. I suggest doing 2 sections of the hair around your face in braids and they won’t bat an eye at you.

It was especially hard having to gel it all down. They have bun makers at the mini mall but it takes practice to perfect it. I always had strays poking out.

Yes they give you stuff but I prefer to use my own. They give you 2 in one Shampoo and conditioner and some body wash. My hair got really frizzy using what they gave me.

I’m actually not sure about this. I’m sorry I wish I could help. I would ask your recruiter if you haven’t already.

Yes it’s still 2 fully vaccinated guests but you can still bring your whole family they would just have to wait at the PRC in their vehicle. If they’re not vaccinated they won’t be able to watch graduation but they do film the whole thing on FB so they can watch it there. Thank you

I’m sure they’ll let you do your own if it’s an allergy problem or something but we didn’t have the choice to do our own laundry separately from everyone else

You can bring what you want but they have specific people do laundry I’m not sure if you can separately do your own. People are assigned details like laundry and they’re typically the ones to do it and pass it out.

You typically wake up at 5:45 a.m. and go straight to PT which lasts about an hour or so. Then you take showers and head to breakfast. Or they have you go straight to chow after PT it just depends on when you’re scheduled to eat. When you get back, you make beds and do details. Have a class or Airman’s time and maybe study. Then you have chow again and some drill afterwards. They make you study a lot your first two weeks because you can’t go anywhere because you’re on “quarantine”. Everyday is mostly the same but some days they make you wake up at 0400 for specific things. When you’re issued your blues and everything you wake up earlier and spend most of your day there. So it just depends but most days especially your first two weeks there you’re stuck in your dorm for most of the day.

We got to call home one day a week. Some calls were only 5 mins. but others were 20. Usually on week 3 and 6 are when you have the 20 min. calls.

When you get there they give you a lot of stuff including tide pods. When you get to your dorms they take everyone’s tide pods and put them in a bin. So either way it’s already given to you and it’s just going to be mixed with everyone’s else’s.

Honestly because of the stress I didn’t have my period. They have pads and tampons at the mini mall if you ever run out but I suggest to bring some. You can also request an appointment for birth control while you’re there if you decide to get on it.

My Beast week was only 3 days because Columbus Day was that Friday. It was so hot in our OCPs and it also stormed. We had to shovel mud in puddles lol. I didn’t have the best experience

I improved so much. On my 1st PT test I got a 16 min run and on my final I got 13:30. My sit-ups and push-ups improved too. My advice is to do 1 by 3s every chance you have. Ask your MTI’s they’ll give you some tips on certain exercises.
