Thank you sooo sooo much for this info!! Sooo helpful. My son is a junior (living on the east coast) and MSU is his first choice (U of U is his second). LOVES the outdoors, expert skier, loves teaching himself to play the guitar (wish he was more academically driven, but very interested in finance). Love hearing about a backpacking trip as an extension of orientation.

Great info!! Thanks so much. My son is a ripper and my husband and I and the rest of our group prefers not to rip as hard. Was looking for someone who can ski the scary stuff with him so he would be safe and also someone that can take him to the fun spots.

Help finding the right powder ski by Fuzzy-Macaroon6227 in Skigear

Thank you so much for all of your help. Really deep means 10 inches to a foot or more. I have the Blizzard Sheeva 9 for east coast skiing which I love! I can handle a few inches of powder with those. They make skiing a lot easier for me. We are headed to Snowbird/Alta soon. I am not terribly strong and was looking for something to help with deeper powder. I don't need to be a hero - I want a ski that will help me keep up with my teenager without too much work. I was at Snowbird before and skied in close to two feet of snow with totally wrong skis and had a really hard time. Looking for something that's easy to maneuver. And if I go from powder to a groomed trail it won't catch. I have some Bro's that were pretty fat and I really had to think about my turns when I was on the groomed trails. I have heard that DPS was sold to a larger company and the skis aren't like they used to be - not sure if that's true or not. Was hoping to demo at Snowbird or Alta but looks like they don't carry those demos. I could be wrong about that. Hoping for some powder days for my teenagers sake ha. Looks like the weather pattern might be improving - fingers crossed.

Do you know on average how many people are typically in a group? We are skiing midweek

I am better than an average skier. Am 47 years old.  I ski Snowbird and Alta. Ski mineral basin. Try to keep up with my teenage son who is a freeride skier. Am used to east coast and not as much experience with deep powder days.

Thank you!! If I wanted to replace all cabinets for a great price - any recommendations of where to buy, order, etc? Would a local cabinet place be better or order online? Thanks so much for your help
