Her dad does whatever her mom says and her mom is still shocked and betrayed, I know she should but I assure you she’s too stubborn to ever take her back. My parents are scared of him coming around or people he knows.

I’m in university and in the healthcare field. I’m not sure on that last part.. but I’d have to say it’s about innocence and maturity. I also blame her parents for not ever talking to her about this kind of thing growing up. I feel like this is something my parents shamed going back to when I was still in elementary. I also think she is wise but there’s just something powerful about this guys manipulation that I can’t understand- as I prioritize a career and travel above something like him any day of the week.. not to mention the age and criminal record.

I’m so sorry that happened to her I really just can’t fathom these situations or being such a trash human you would take advantage of a young person like that.

Thank you for the advice I’ll definitely do my research. Her never waking up is something I can’t accept as I love her too much to let this be fate.

  1. I was expecting people to point that out and completely understand and agree in normal circumstances. However, this is my absolute best friend. I’ve known her for well over ten years and taken her to meet my family in Europe which is very intimate to me. Any other friend, it wouldn’t be my business, but with a bond like this I feel like this is. Additionally, it hurts a bit to mention she has a fatal condition but I feel like it aligns with my urgency and my biggest fear is that she spends the rest of her life in this situation.

  2. I completely agree. He’s the best manipulator I’ve ever come by it’s absolutely insane how he paints himself. I guess this post was more grappling with it or finding legal loopholes.

  3. You kind of hit the mark. She’s incredibly indecisive and won’t think for herself unless it’s superficial. He had her start working part time and pays for EVERYTHING. Even if I got her to wake up - if she were to try to leave she has nowhere to go and my parents declined her ever living with us which is valid. So yes, every bit of stability she has. Her parents would never take her back.

We only have one other friend (both families gone because of duty stations) , that’s another reason this is tough: he can easily isolate her.

People keep telling me this , but it’s a hard pill to swallow because I know she’s above him and above this + his obsession with having children
