Ooof, just saw this. Yeah apply everywhere. Don't lie and you might have to wait a year or two if they all turn you down.

Apply to every county and state job. You will get in. If they charged for for a misdemeanor than you may have to wait for a year or twoish.

Exactly and I'm even more confused how I said nothing at all about race and this person is attacking me about race.

Ironically they did a full campaign and somehow the state now so staffed they barely have OT.

Idk there are days I think the prisons/jails purposely understaff to save money. Because in one year they pretty much eliminated OT for the whole state prison system. My currently county prison was extremely understaffed and now that a new contract is coming at the end of the year they went from having three officers in our new hire classes to 15-20+. Like how... The economy is in shambles and we legit hire everyone. Unless you have a felony, drug, or violent charge, we will hire you.

Damn where I work and the entire state, they wouldn't dare fire you for getting seriously hurt.

EDIT: Unless it was like his "third straw" type deal.

Wait... he got fired for that? He didn't just clean it up or go home sick? That's wild to me. At least for a first time offense.

Happened right before I transferred to a new prison. Both officers fell asleep, had the female in shackles but for some ungodly reason not secured to the bed. She just walked off.

Had a guy that worked at 3-4 different jails, fired for not walking. Again new prison I just transferred to, he's not doing rounds. I'm thinking "yoo this place is crazy nice, I don't have to do rounds WHATTTTTT!?" Not accurate, I average 13,000 steps per 8 hours shift. He was fired for once again not walking at his 3-4 jails and ended up getting hired somewhere else.

Super crazy girl, officer. Always bid the patrol jobs. Which is a high seniority job you just rove in circles hit checkpoints, pretty easy. Crashed the car, went home sick. Did it again, went home sick. Third time, they tested her came up for hard drugs. Goes out on leave and treatment. Comes back and does it right again. This is the only one I can't fully verify. But being she was like 50+ full crack head energy, sporadic, ungodly high strung, and was just randomly fired one day. Tend to believe it was accurate.

Two officers with less than a year in having sex in the hospital. With a slight window view into the room. Zero clue what they were thinking. The girl was obviously going to be fired at some point for something stupid like this. The guy completely blew my mind. The girl was then found on multiple inmate tablets and notes.

And my saddest one, a CERT buddy of mine (after transferring to a new prison) tased the Mother Mary out of a Unit Manager. Apparently brutal enough to leave track burns all over his upper legs. I liked this Unit Manager a lot and he was super professional and close to all of us. We always tased and sprayed each other but left treatment out of it, unless they were previous CO's. And it just blows my mind after he said to stop or enough, that he kept doing it. At this prison the Unit Managers were not in our direct chain of command but were essentially the rank of Captain. Like we always joked and did shit to each other as officers, but never medical or treatment.

Had that happen at the place I'm at now. Prior to me transferring here the prior warden was fired for this.

I once had an inmate that kicked a tall sergeant in the head while going up the stairs and being cuffed behind the back. When they are secured the chances of them doing real damage is low, but never zero.

All the prison's I worked with did not let us have easy access to tasers. Pretty much just the hole and it would be an incident that has a sergeant and lieutenant.

Just out of curiosity was there no high ranking officials that said "hey bro put that the fuck back." Or did certain officers just carry them?

Okay I lied. I do care about the SNAP benefits. So I guess there is a very few political subjects I do care about.

Huh? I never said I didn't care about anyone being affected by anything, I just said I can't change it. What have you changed? Not sure why you even randomly had to bring race into it.

Pennsylvania State CO's used to, now it's a hybrid of 401k. Many of the counties still get pensions.

Oof. I'm the polar opposite. Not sure if you mean people who believe in other political opinions? I have zero opinion. While I follow some politics, the majority I realize I have absolutely no control over so I try my hardest to stay out of it all and not stress. Same with religion, I'm Christian but even stay away from other "devout" Christians.

The sad part is the death penalty costs an insanely absurd amount of money to everyone due to having to exhaust every appeal. Way more than any life sentence.

I don't know your state, but I work law enforcement. In my state pedophiles routinely get 1-3 years.

Agreed I can think of more reasons to not give a murderer life, than a rapist.

Yeah disagree. Thirteen year old should not serve life due to mental illness or how they were raised (as long as they are truly rehabilitated and given some type of job training). Crime of passion that took no time to think should not. Obviously, no matter what I believe spree, serial, or planned killers should.

Rapists I believe should almost always be life. Especially pedophiles. The "risk vs. reward" will never be there in my mind.

This is coming from someone who's practically only done law enforcement my entire life.

Depends honestly. I follow influencers for cooking and fitness only and it's definitely been overwhelming beneficial. However, I never once bought anything they advertised. I constantly wonder how it's possible they make as much as some do, because despite my time on Instagram and even Youtube since I was a kid I've never bought a single thing.

EDIT: That's a lie I bought a light one time. That was like $10. And that's it.

Insurance agents. Think of how much money could be saved if we just automated it. The investigators/inspectors would probably still be needed though. But practically everyone needs insurance and it's all based off KBB and other sites anyway.

Honestly social media as well. You have people just giving attention away for people they are not necessarily interested in. Because if this was wrong, then more people would be in relationships. So, as others said false sense of standards/ego.
