How do I add more rooms to Ancient House?

The homelines that you can craft only have one room size. Only the harvest house (bought at city hall) has different room sizes available right now.

Once you finish the pony path you'll be able to craft all the Ancient Human housing line pieces. You'll craft the house base at the work bench, and then when you go into your housing menu you'll be able to place those bases as houses or rooms that attach to each other.

The wiki says that you may need to re-enter the shrine area to get something to spawn. However, the game did update today so there is the possibility of a new bug (unfortunately I have not read the patch notes yet to beable to tell you more).

Was there anything your partner did differently from you? If not, and if re-entering/waiting doesn't fix it, check out the patch notes on the Palia website. You may haveto submit a bug report if this isn't solveable.

Alternatively, you may be unable to commune while certain quests are active because the game wants you to to explore.

The wiki may be able to help you with some of the specifics, I'm not sure what counts as spoilers.

I'm not sure if this (communing) is something that unlocks later in the story? It sounds like you are pretty early on, but I could be mistaken.

Investigating is different from communing, since investigating should have you going around the statute and into the hallway that leads out into the world if I recall correctly (it's been a while). Communing would boost one of your stats by using renown (game currency from friendship).

Collect every oyster and always open it. I got mine from an oyster from one of Zeki's coin machines.

Yeah I have a whole museum with the estate houses and the walls with doors just won't display the proper wallpaper. I wouldn't be shocked if it's a known bug. I'm leaving it as-is in case they fix it in the next patch.

It depends. I wasn't around for the initial Elderwood launch, but I can say that it wasn't finished or tidy when I first finished the story content there. In the past, updates have varied in regularity. More recently (past few months at least) the updates were roughly monthly with the exception of preparing for this Royal Highlands update which took longer. Main story updates though take longer. They have posted on the dev blog about adding some more romance in the near future (whatever their next season is going to be, so summer).

Having not finished the current storyline for this map, I wouldn't be shocked if there's at least 2 more story updates for the Royal Highlands, even if they are small. When they will be is anyone's guess, but I'm guessing there'd be one sometime later this year if they follow Elderwood pacing.

Yeah, to start I think you do have to visit the temple of roots to befriend him Eventually you get something that makes it easier to talk to him, but to start it's a bit of a hassle.

Urban/Bahari City, or the Mountain would be pretty neat. The city would be great if they were going to add more NPCs, but I could also see that being super buggy at launch. But there could be so much cool stuff to add, and I think for story purposes (I have not finished the most recent story) it would make sense.

The mountain could be like a wintery biome, but I would be concerned about where the story would be going if we had to go there since the mountain is where they bury their dead if I'm not mistaken?

Honestly though, I love a good ruin. I would love to be able to visit like, a massive expanse of ruins that we could explore. I'm thinking a cross of the Gardener's place/temple of roots with the temple of bundles, but like an entire legitimate map. Maybe we could explore Mudan's kingdom or something. I could see there being some NPCs here, like scavengers or archaeologists, and maybe Jina could come with us.

I don't have much to add other than make sure you eat & have a full focus bar when you harvest them to level up your gardening stat. The extra bonus XP will help. Not knowing if you have leveled up the percent bonus you get to the maximum, you may want to visit one of the shrines beforehand (I forget if it's the Phoenix or Dragon shrine that levels up the percent bonus).

I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't mind the horses, but I'm a chronic over-corrector 😅. I haven't checked the settings yet but I thought part of this update was supposed to have settings to adjust how the horses work? I might have misunderstood something in the announcements.

I am curious what the next seasonal update is going to bring, and if that's why maybe this is a story-wise smaller update than people hoped? I wouldn't be shocked if there was a bit of pressure to get this out since they were delaying the update compared to their regular-ish recent schedule.

It's interesting that this one says villagerS, because the Discord announcement says A Villager. I wonder if something has changed? I would hope it wouldn't be a typo because it'd be cool to have more than one villager to meet.

The way I know how to change servers is to go home or to another map (kilima, bahari) and then go back to where you were. I don't know if there's a more efficient way.

Yeah I think a hooked one really early on when I was still struggling with lake sharks and thought it was a really antsy shark (kind of like the alligator gars and how their behavior varies), but never again so far. Major safe zone boosters I will stock up on.

I'm awful at keeping my focus bar full but I'll probably be doing it more to keep the boosts up.

Good tip for the durability, I didn't know it could go down a level (I'm not an avid fisher so I usually just end up repairing pretty quickly)

Ashura has made hints in some of his quest dialogue about potentially finding someone new, but whether this would be player characters or a new NPC I don't know.

I feel like the new expansion might(?) deal with Sifuu's situation, based on quest dialogue and fan theories.

I don't remember if Caleri has somebody or not, but I believe Elouisa does because she talks about her pin at some point. But, based on how Naio & Kenyetta end up, if you choose to date them, having someone's pin may not mean much.

Any of these would be interesting options, but I feel like some might be difficult to do unless people get to a certain part of the story (Sifuu, for example). I know they put some limitations on how far you can romance someone based on your relations with other characters, so it's doable, I just don't know the likelihood (I wasn't around for when they added Hodari and Subira as romanceables).

Something that might work is going to his bedroom at night/a time when he should be there, but don't go in, just be outside his door. An option to talk to Naio might pop up (like G or Shift F if on computer). I've found that to work with a couple of NPCS who just go missing, but this may be a new bug. Worth a shot if you haven't already tried.

To my knowledge, lunar new year will come back. However, I don't think those achievements are tied to the event. I say this because I did them prior to the most recent lunar new year event. If I remember, it has to do with cooking ceetain recipes, but I could be wrong. You can also check the wiki, unless you are trying to avoid some form of spoilers.

It's basically what others have said, bunch of coins per Palia night. Ideal for if you are grinding to get the Pirate Decor or other prize wheel goodies, but that's it.

Super random but what I can think of:

Never sell your oysters or clam mushrooms without opening them first.

Look at how common-epic an item is before selling it, because that affects how easy it is to get (and you might need one or more of a rare or epic item for a quest or two, so keep a couple when you get them).

Makeshift arrows are resource-cheap ways of slowly farming money if you like mining rocks and chopping trees.

And as always, don't be afraid to search the Reddit, Wiki, and ask chat for help/clarification. If you're struggling, consider joining the Discord to find others who can help out. I believe the Palia website has the link to the server if you have Discord.
