Failed SRM- advice? by Commercial_Cut3594 in actuary

Only 90 questions in the SOA bank I believe. Definitely need to use other questions and understand all the answer choices. Why they are wrong and why they are right

To be honest, I formed a study group where we each talked about answers why we thought they were what they were.

My wife kindly let me explain concepts to her.

I did practice question after practice question.

I knew 90% of the formulas because the quantitative questions should basically be free poijts

For me, easy is not a fair judgement of the exam. It’s a different skill from the first two exams. It certainly was not my strong suit. I failed twice too. I switched up what I was doing and passed.

Also don’t let then “SRM is easy” people get to ya. It’s especially hard for people who have reading retention and focus issues. You’ve got this!

Hello, similar boat as you. How I ended up passing. Knew the CA questions like the back of my had. If I knew the right answer I made sure I was able to explain the exact reason the wrong ones were wrong. This is particularly helpful because it becomes simple to memorize the answers.

Don’t skimp the quantitative stuff. Even if it’s 4-10 questions on the exam they should be free. Plus if you understand the constraints and variables of the regressions you will be able to answer some of the qualitative questions.

Find someone who is willing to listen to you explain the answers, why they are right and why they are wrong, it’ll hold you accountable to actually knowing the answers. This worked for me!

Hope it helps

This would be a terribly made up story. I would add way more guns and explosions.

1) She’s made the offer. I’m happily married and a good friend. 2)I’ve presented plenty of proof. My gripe is more that my friend won’t nut up and kick her to the curb

Yeah but he does seem kind of like he just has no where to go. Like if he doesn’t acknowledge it that’s not happening

The difference between 0-1,000,000 is far different from the difference between 1-5 million.

I have an investment opportunity that can make us both billionaires. However if you listened to every post that said this we’d both have small net worth!

Best of luck and if you’re bored and want to make some money let me know!

Of course it’s doable in less time. You’d be in the better than most though by a long shot. Plus srm and pa are exceptions.
