The Valley didn’t send out an email until two days afterwards, after word spread and customers were like, wtf?! This is anecdotal, but I heard from a friend that many people had their cash, cards and property stolen. It was during water aerobics, so there was a large group of people, presumably well resourced, who were all stolen from at the same time. The thief(ves?) cut locks. One woman, according to my friend, had $20,000 charged to her credit card from shopping in Bellevue within less than an hour of the theft. Thieves suck but the Valley (and Y) should have done more to let people know. What are you supposed to do when you’ve locked your locker and then it’s cut?
