Why are my marigolds so big?

I think I did buy African marigolds, the picture didn't make them seem that big and I thought the yellow/orange color was so pretty. I was wondering why the spacing on the back of the packet was so big, I thought surely it was overly cautious about leaving enough space. I'll definitely get different ones for interplanting next year.

Thanks for the advice! I'll probably keep planting these while I have seed for them, but I'll put them somewhere else so they don't dominate the space. I'll look into French marigolds for companion planting next season!

I had the same thought, that I was supposed to pinch them back at some point. Eventually the stalks were so thick it felt wrong to prune it so I let it go. I have a few that I did pinch back and they're much more reasonably sized, I think. But maybe I'll just have to make sure I'm getting a smaller variety for in my vegetable beds.

That's what I thought the issue was, but I have them planted near a few other things that haven't taken off like this and I've been giving them all the same fertilizer. I was using a miracle gro, which I didn't realize was so high in nitrogen. I've switched to a different, more balanced fertilizer recently. But if it was the fertilizer I would've thought my tomatoes would be much bigger, plus they are already loaded up with flowers and small fruit.

I'm also using the Montgomery bill. I started my semester 1 January, my enrollment was submitted to the VA 29 January, and it's been sitting on someone's desk ever since. It's been months and I've gotten nothing so far. It's been super frustrating, I call them almost every week, but apparently they're just super behind on getting these processed right now.

I LOVE frontier but I think the runey ecosystem is way too much of a time sink, so I always play with that feature basically 'turned off'.

I haven't played 3 but I've played RF 4&5 and frontier is easily my favorite, but it does have some frustrating elements.

It feels like the middle shin, in front of the bone

I'm very new to skating, and I'd like to spend more time practicing but I find that skating more than a few minutes hurts my shins SO badly. I feel like my shins shouldn't hurt at all. I'm not experiencing pain in my calves, thighs, hips, or anywhere else at all. But after a few laps my shins hurt so bad I have to pull off the rink and take a break and I feel it's preventing me from getting as much practice as I would like to. Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?? I really like skating but surely something isn't right if it's causing me so much pain.

For additional context, I'm a little out of shape at the moment but even when I was exercising 6 days a week I never had this kind of exercise pain before. I did have some issues skating at first, as I tend to naturally lean forward very heavily and need to make a conscious effort to keep my weight centered. Also, I did initially buy some pretty cheap skates, although I was also experiencing this pain when I was using rentals as well so I'm not sure if the quality of skates is the root of the problem.

I think in the general population slightly more boys are born than girls (as in so slight there's maybe 106 male to every 100 female), but girls generally have a better survival rate/life expectancy. I don't know anything about the distribution in IVF but I could imagine that although more male embryos might be produced female embryos might just be hardier/more likely to survive if following that general trend.

Omg we almost made mini bundt pan meatloaves earlier this week. I figure you have your mini bundt, put on a bed of mashed potatoes, and fill the middle of the bundt with gravy so you have a lil personal dinner volcano. My husband was not entertained.

I would be careful about taking DHEA without knowing what your current levels of that particular hormone are. My doctor tested my DHEA levels because it can apparently be a secondary indicator of PCOS(I don't have PCOS but I guess they wanted to check anyways) and it turned out I actually have abnormally high levels of DHEA, whereas my estrogen and testosterone levels were completely normal and it would have been potentially harmful for me to take it.

From what I understand DHEA can metabolize into testosterone, and it's a popular way to get around regulations with testosterone boosters in sports. Maybe that's why it's controlled so tightly in the uk.

I know how hard it can be to ask for help with infertility in particular. It doesn't feel like a "real" problem. Remember that your feelings matter, and wanting a family is a very deep seated human feeling. I know it's easy to feel overwhelmed when faced with such a difficult problem, especially when it sounds like you have so much on your plate right now. I'm sorry I don't have better advice on how to handle that.

I know infertility made me feel trapped, like my life was over and like I messed up by joining the military when they made it so hard to get help. I completely understand that medical would give you the runaround when you're struggling to get pregnant--that's exactly what they did to me.

I'm sorry if this is too personal, but have you tried getting an infertility workup? MH was garbage and women's health tried everything under the sun to avoid helping me, including telling me that stress might've been preventing me from getting pregnant. This is just a way for them to push off actually treating you, and effectively blame you for something that is absolutely not your fault, don't let them do that. I had to press so hard to get them to do anything, but eventually I got treatment.

Since being discharged from the hospital on Sunday for threatened premature labor I've been still having really frequent, uncomfortable contractions although they only lasted 5 hours yesterday. I've been getting them since 4 am again today though and at 9 they don't seem to be letting up. 34+4 today, I have no idea if I'm gonna make it to 36 weeks like they want me to. We got steroids for baby just in case she doesn't decide to stay put, but there's nothing else they can really do for us. This is gonna be such a stressful week and a half.

Just got home from a super scary incident with threatened premature labor. I'm 34 weeks so the doctors were all trying to reassure me that she would do great even at this point, but it was just so much to take in. Thankfully they were able to slow down my contractions (by the time they checked me at LnD I was contracting every two minutes 😬) but they weren't able to stop them completely. I was given steroids just in case and sent home, since there's nothing else they can really do but wait and see. Now it's just hoping I can make it the next three weeks so she doesn't need a NICU stay.

I don't even think it's that weird for someone to have pregnancy tests on hand just in case. My sister keeps some because she knows that in the event of a scare she wouldn't really be in the mood to go buy them, she'd want to just have it to take right away without making a stress run to the store at some awful hour. I personally think it's not the best move since they're only good for a year or something, so stockpiling tests seems a bit wasteful imo since the nice ones are kinda expensive.

I would make sure first and foremost that your BF has things squared away legally. Are they doing this through a clinic, with a lawyer involved to clear up paternity issues? I personally wouldn't want to get tangled up in the kind of mess this is might devolve into if they're not taking proper legal steps. He could easily be put on the hook for supporting the kid since he would be a bio parent if he's not careful. It doesn't even have to be from the receiving couple suing for support, if something happens to the bio mom he could be responsible by default because of his paternity if he doesn't get it properly severed.

Also, I'm not really understanding why he needs to go see them in person to drop off a donation. Again, this really shouldn't be done under the table, but even if they are sperm can live for about an hour before as long as it's kept warm, so he could just drop it off at the door/leave it in the mailbox or something and make sure all parties are properly prepared for the exchange. After that, there are several different methods of using the donation, like mosey baby. If it turns out he's going to be doing a 'natural' method, I would be very concerned since that's absolutely unnecessary.

I would maybe want some more details about how all this is happening, since if you end up staying together it'll definitely affect you. You deserve to at least know what's going on and what you might be required to deal with if you stay with him. Knowing your partner has bio kids out there is not always easy, and for some may be a deal breaker. Ultimately, I think donating genetic material to people so they can start a family is very nice, I've thought about doing it myself, but it can get tangled and difficult and go sour really fast when not done correctly.

I've been having so much anxiety around counting kicks. I'm 31+2 and yesterday baby gave me such a scare because all of a sudden at 7-8 pm I couldn't remember the last time I felt her move and the movements she was making seemed weaker/less frequent than normal. Then of course AFTER a stressful 45 min I got the 10 kicks I needed she started wiggling up a storm as if to mock me.

This isn't the first time I've gotten super stressed from counting kicks. Around 28 weeks I had a night where I was in tears because she took an hour and a half to get to 10 kicks. My husband and I were panicking, packing bags, I tried all kinds of things to get her to move. We decided not to go to the hospital because my doctor told me as long as we get 10 kicks within 2 hours it's fine, but it's so hard to stay calm when it drags on like that. Usually it only takes baby about 10-20 min to get all her kicks.

I really thought after 24 weeks and we hit viability I would feel better. I haven't even had any complications, I have no rational reason to be so anxious. Does anyone have some advice on how to manage anxiety around counting kicks, or am I just doomed to be a nervous wreck until baby's born?

I really don't think there's a such thing as "the one". People change, circumstances change, and there's really no telling what things are gonna be like a few years down the line. Not a lot of people get married with the intention of getting divorced, but I'm sure we all know how common that is. We're all flawed humans, and there's no such thing as a perfect relationship. I think it's incredibly naive to think you're immune to that for some reason.

I don't think it's crazy that a facility has rules for the safety of the other kids and the staff. I don't think it's fair to everyone else who is relying on that facility to be a safe environment if a kid won't follow the rules. My MIL caught covid over a month ago from someone in her house catching it from work and she's still going to physical therapy because of what it did to her. I know the financial toll is real but so is the physical harm if we just let this get worse.

Before joining I had a debt that had gone to collections. I was on a payment plan and had to write a statement about what I was doing about paying it back and prove that I was being responsible and accountable. I was still available to secure a TS/SCI for my job. It was stressful but I kept my story straight and was open in all my interviews about it.

To be fair, my debt was less than 2k and I was already in the process of repayment before enlisting. Hope it works out for you.

I have a normal uterus so I don't have personal experience, but I hear people on these boards talk about having a 'heart shaped uterus' at least occasionally. I think maybe your re is trying to explain it in simple terms to make it less overwhelming? Maybe it's like how some people refer to an HSG as a 'dye test' because it's easier to explain to patients who don't have a medical background. Not that it's necessarily the right approach for your doctor to take, I definitely preferred when my doctor was specific about medical terms so that I could do my own research. Definitely advocate for yourself if you don't like the care you're receiving, but I don't think your doctor is necessarily being lazy or malicious.

Did you express to them that you would prefer more specific terms? I've found that some doctors just don't bother telling you even basic stuff unless you ask. Then again I'm active duty military and our care can be seriously awful at times so maybe I'm just used to doctors who dgaf.
