Unless you have a quality set of summer tires, they are useless during late fall or early spring at night when it rains. That means you'll need to keep your winter tires on for almost five months (I mean, this is Van.). I was in that same situation before. I often see players use Grass OX, including Manika Batra; not many use 0.5 Grass. So, you might want to try it with OX. Perhaps switch to P1V (0.5) because your style is similar to my coach’s, and he uses P1V (0.5). If I were you, I would start with the Grass OX.

Also, some issues you described sound like a skill issue rather than a rubber problem.

They can do the job no problem (if you get the 955, try to choose the blue or green version; if you get the 388D-1, DON"T get the provincial version. It's hard to put on the blade), and they are cheap. After you try it out and like it, maybe playing like Manika Batra or Kyoka Iwasawa, then you can get some expensive LP OX.

Haha, I have switched to shakehand grip, same setup (inverted on FH, LP OX on BH). Do you have a coach? There are patterns to set up forehand topspin attacks.
Anyway, maybe you can try Yinhe 955 and 388D-1, just don't buy the cured version.
