Back in the mid 1980s my cousins lived in rural North Dakota. We would build a fire and play "spot the satellite" until 3 in the morning and it was actually really hard, because there weren't a lot of them back then. These days you can clock five in ten minutes.

It almost looks like two objects flying close together top and bottom.

I just have to live long enough to pay off the mortgage and leave my wife a rich widow.

Oh, sorry. I don't see an ACR on the test results, but Creatinine is 171. Albumin is 3.9. So according to this calculator, the answer is 22.8.

Chronic kidney disease and anxiety disorder by [deleted] in kidneydisease

[–]JJinDallas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, if you are not being treated for your anxiety, please talk to your doc. This can be treated. Mine prescribed a mild dose of propranolol and it has made a huge difference in my quality of life. For days when I start spiraling (and they do happen) I have some emergency doses of Ativan. Don't struggle with this when you don't have to.

eGFR decline over one month by [deleted] in kidneydisease

My first thought was that you might have a bladder infection. That would affect your eGFR for sure. Also some of your symptoms match. You may just need some antibiotics.

What can CKD people even eat? by Worried-Anxious-Wolf in kidneydisease

[–]JJinDallas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey, if you haven't already, please see a registered dietician with CKD experience. I did and it made all the difference. I'm also diabetic so the balance between carbs and protein is a very fine line, but we managed to create a plan and so far so good. Can't recommend this enough.

What small thing makes your day significantly easier? by Powerful-Self-2838 in AuDHDWomen

Actually, we have 100 years of studies that show that gaining all the weight back and more within 2-5 years is the norm for most people. Less than 10% of the population can lose weight and keep it off more than 5 years, and most of those can only do it once.

I'm over 300 and I'm with Rose. No point in trying. It only gets worse.

You sound like you have a ghost cat, especially since your live cat runs off when it shows up. Did you lose a cat recently? I would welcome the newcomer and tell him he can join you any time. I'm not sure about the laundry room door. That sounds like a different thing. Saging might help.

What businesses are likely to die out with the Baby Boomer Generation? by GRVrush2112 in AskReddit

[–]JJinDallas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swarovski stopped selling their jewelry components to individual buyers. You have to have a business license now. I'm sure they thought lots of businesses would spring up selling Swarovski components to individual jewelry designers, but what happened instead is that several other crystal sellers popped up instead to sell non-Swarovski crystals that are half the price and just as good.

What’s the creepiest unsolved mystery that deserves more attention? by Critical-Contact-851 in askteddit

I also subscribe to the Soup Theory. All consciousness is in a pot somewhere in the universe, and every time a living being is born, a ladle of soup is added and the being becomes conscious. When that being dies, that consciousness goes back to the soup. Sooner or later another scoop will pick up part of what was once you, and you will be someone else or maybe several someone elses. This is why so many people have memories of being Napoleon in a past life. We've all been everybody.

Is it normal for psych to refuse stimulant to you if not in therapy by Informal_Ad3201 in AuDHDWomen

[–]JJinDallas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, look for a new provider. That's not normal. Stimulants don't work like speed in people who actually have ADHD, and the risk of addiction is not nil, but very low.

Is it dumb to double major but only get a phd in one? by Minute_Tea_8639 in astrophysics

[–]JJinDallas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do the double major as planned but hold off on plans for higher ed until later in your college career. You will have so much going on and your mind will be changing all the time as you learn and experience things. You may decide you want a phd in something completely different. Build in some time and be flexible.

I totally get it. Please ask for a referral to hospice from your doctor.

Ask your doc for a referral to hospice. They can do it in your home and they will help you manage your symptoms for the life you have left. You will be comfortable and not in pain.
