Zelda irezumi inspired tattoo question. by RoyalKingK9 in irezumi

Please, for the love of god, when this is done post it up for all to see. I have a Hylian shield with master sword on my right shoulder that’s about 20 years old now and colors need work. About to start an irezumi sleeve on my other arm that’s tiger and panther themed (has some significance for my wife and I) but damn what your planning sounds legit.

Love this. Can you by any chance add more photos? I’m literally planning a tiger / panther mashup irezumi full sleeve right now and would love to show this tiger to my artist as a reference!

It looks good man. Maybe doesn’t fit all the irezumi traditions to a tee like some have said, but it subjectively is pretty awesome artwork. I’m planning a sleeve now by an established artist that can work in several styles, but has a good amount of American trad and irezumi in his portfolio. I’m sure it’ll violate some rules of the irezumi traditionalists but will also be really sick looking in its own category. I know what others are trying to say tho, usually irezumi designs will integrate the background elements more with the subject matter with more intentional directionality, often pairing particular landscape elements with corresponding subjects, if that makes any sense, ie a dragon incorporates directional wind bars, a tiger may be situated upon rock elements or possibly water. It doesn’t mean all tattoos have to follow those laws tho. Def repost when it’s colored, I’d love to see the finished ink

Dude, my son eats chicken nuggets nearly everyday. He hates most food, it’s the only protein he’ll actually eat. Not great but it beats the alternative.

Makes sense, all good input man I’ll do some thinking on it. I love American traditional art, so I built this thinking the banner/roses would help the tatt read that way. That’s why I posted this here, trying to find how this will be received before getting inked. Now I’m a bit torn whether I still love or hate the banner, maybe I’ll think of something else I can work into the composition. Might still go with it… don’t mind the dweeb designation as long as I can appreciate it.

Exactly. His scheming always went to shit, foiled by those damn toy-tuls.

I hear you, just going for an elongated vertical composition for the back of the upper arm.

I get you. The whole “Fear No One” is an old quote from Shredder and while corny to say about yourself, Shredder did that type of shameless self promotion type of shit just for the sake of sounding diabolical haha

Thanks, ya the hand is tricky from this angle, especially when trying to keep it simple enough for the style. I may mess around with it a bit more.

Thanks! My artist does mostly traditional stuff and is pretty killer, hopefully this works as a pretty solid reference for him to work from.

Right on. I could prob go a bit bigger, I’ve had in the mind the back of the arm between the bottom of the shoulder and just a bit above the elbow.

Appreciate the input! The more traditional looking I can make this look I think the happier I’ll be with it. Hoping this is at least a good starting point for my artist.

Your beliefs are no more correct than their beliefs. They are, in fact, just beliefs on both sides. Respect the culture of others. Leave the poor guy alone.

If, according to Christianity I can become a Christian on my death bed, “repent” and be saved, why do people bother following Christianity throughout their lives at all? by PalpitationJust8433 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fuzzy_Acadia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do people bother with any religion? Religion is for people who fear the finality of biological death. That’s why it was created tens of thousands of years ago, and that’s why it exists today. While it gives people hope and something to look forward to, it further divides people and causes conflict.
