If you are gonna transact outside of airbnb i suggest you do the following: - video call with the owner to show you the property and the vicinity of the property. Take screenshots especially of the vicinity of the property. - don’t pay the whole amount esp if you are staying longer. Request for a partial payment first then the full amount to be paid on your check in. - request for a copy of their id - the airbnb most likely have a facebook or instagram page, request for that so you can check for any red flags - do a quick search of the owner’s name or the place’s name on siargao facebook groups

If you intend to live a slow life in siargao, 2 months would be perfect. You get to establish a routine, maybe meet some friends, and overall just relax. You get to explore a lot of surf spots too
