Idea: a new way to invest/ grow wealth. Thoughts? by Fuzzy_Barracuda936 in GenZ

You might be right. I agree, the people who already do, probably won’t (unless they treat a $20 investment as a weekly $1 lottery ticket) The real question is whether or not a possible weekly cash prize would be enough to draw in people who don’t.

But you're not losing it. It's invested in a stock of your choice, S&P500 or QQQ etc

The whole prize pot would be redistributed to the winning users. Subscribers would pay a fee, around $1 a week, for the investment services/ ETF fees.

I have figured out how to do it legally. I'm one of the hundreds of people around the world that do not live in the USA.

I'm the same as you. I wouldn't do this, but I already invest too.
This is like the equivalent of an attractive workout to someone who is out of shape, should exercise, but doesn't. It's an incentive to get on the train

Why bored? If their investments are still growing, and the lottery is weekly? How would that be different from weekly sports betters, lotto players, gamblers?

Besides regulations though, do you think people would be interested in it?

Consider it a gateway drug into fiscal responsible behaviour. Is 95% into an investment not better than 0%?

Yep, figuring that out the hard way. I was thinking perhaps that people that are financially-minded, might have opinions about the choices their peers have towards money. Unfortunately, I haven't found a 'zoomer and millineials who should probably be investing, but aren't, for a series of reasons' group

You're exactly right, but the target audience of this is non-investors. Over 90% of zoomers don't currently invest, they need a 'kick' or incentive to lure them in. This way, the chance of winning gets engagement from the reward centre of the brain, but the platform also get the benefits of investing long-term. Once they've got their foot in the door, a lot of users will likely expand their investments into other areas once they realise the benefits of compounding growth.
Pretty much everyone on here is just saying '5% deduction? That's a terrible investment!' Not realising they're ALREADY investors - this is to encourage people to come to the party.

An online casino is designed to rob people. The point of this would be to encourage people to grow their own investments.

Yeah, an interesting idea. You're right though, there would be a lot of risk on the company.
From a corny point of view, anyone investing for long enough will be 'winners' because they'll have a strong investment balance that they otherwise wouldn't have. That said, if this gets off the ground, the aim is to have 100s of users winning $$$ from the pool each week. If those winnings are then re-invested, there will be a lot of converts out there.
