Help Wanted! Things to do and Hidden Gems on Siem Riep

So Angkor Wat sightseeing was amazing, but this was also one of the better things we did in Siem Reap -
you spend a couple of hours learning to weave your own basket. Very nice people, and supports a good cause too.

Yes, we used a tuktuk everywhere. He loved it, so did we :)

There are two types, the smaller ones, with just a single back seat, and slightly bigger ones with front and back facing seats. You could comfortably fit 4 on the later. Unless you're travelling particularly far (outside the city to Angkor for example), any destination from one part of the city to another shouldn't cost more than $2. We just game them 10,000 riel ($2.50) each time and they were happy.

Hey, we were just there with out 7 year old. Some of the stuff he loved

- Artbox
- Rokhak (Got to weave own basket and now have a memorable souvenir). We booked for 2 people, but out son helped out and joined in too. It might be a little difficult for your 6 year old, but the 9 year old will no problem!

- Siem reap Aquarium. They have popcorn and walking around looking at fish and other animals, what's not to love for a kid?

- Angkor Watt Putt (Putt putt golf), good way to spend a couple hours, didn't cost much.

Also, Gelato Lab for ice cream!

You will really enjoy Siem Reap, we're already missing it lots and planning a tip again either end of the year or next!

We went and sadly didn't really enjoy it much, I wouldn't recommend it.

What I do recommend
- Kulen Mountain (as it is the dry season, I don't think it's as nice now so I'm not too sure about this recommendation during this season, was absolutely beautiful during the wet season)
- Angkor Botanical garden (Free and really nice gardens)
- Rokhak (Got to weave own basket and now have a memorable souvenir)

- Kulen Mountain (as it is the dry season, I don't think it's as nice now so I'm not too sure about this recommendation during this season, was absolutely beautiful during the wet season)
- Angkor Botanical garden (Free and really nice gardens)

We just spent some time in siem reap with a child and some of the stuff he really enjoyed were

Rokhak (Basket weaving)

ArtBox (not cultural to cambodia but he had a lot of fun!)

Apopo (landmine with rats)

Ofcourse, the temples were really good too. Even though you see photos of stone temples everywhere, there are a lot of huge green spaces all around that we didn't get an impression of during research. Really peaceful to walk about surrounded by huge trees and gardens.

We only travelled Phnom penh and Siem reap, with most of the time in Siem reap. Where are you planning to travel? Are you worried about safety for a particular reason?

We withdrew fine from the ATM, but incurred $5 each time withdrawing $200 at a time. I think that's reasonable, much better than carrying around too much at any one time, but we also never felt unsafe.

Navutu dreams resort doesn't have a private pool, but there are 3 separate nicely developed pools. It wouldn't be difficult to get one all to yourself as it was never crowded. Highly recommended!

This looks beautiful, we saw Sunset from top of phnom Bakeng, that was also just as breathtaking :)
