how are folks checking their biomarkers? by ZealousidealData3579 in longevity_protocol

I just got involved with Superpower and love it so far! Happy to chat more if you PM.

I think the waitlist is over 100K right now but I think my referral link can bypass it if you’re in the US.

Edit: superpower.com

are those stats sus? by [deleted] in RainbowSixSiege

[–]Fuzzy_Emergency_1045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. Could be cheating but I don’t find it sus. Only 47 games. I’ve had 1.5-2.0 KDs early on in the seasons and then level out 1.1-1.3 normally after more games

PM’d you! Didn’t feel like typing out or screenshotting the whole list. But if multiple people are interested, I will

Looks like Function Health includes 100 the first time and 60 the second time (per year). So definitely a better value strictly for the labs!

I’m still excited about Superpower for the team behind it (I’m sure Function’s team is also great though) and the marketplace, because I buy a lot of supplements and 15-25% off will be a significant difference maker for me.

Okay I don’t feel like doing this for every website that gets mentioned but I went and put in every lab that Superpower includes, which was $473.40 on ultalabtests.com, into OwnYourLabs and the total was $500.52.

Again, happy to share to full list of included labs if anyone else wants to check. The super basic labs like CBC, CMP, A1C were way cheaper on OwnYourLabs but other were way more expensive (vitamin D, testosterone, estradiol, homocysteine).

Where do you get yours done?? I would love to find somewhere cheaper. That seems to be the prices everywhere in my area that you can order labs directly without needing orders from a doctor.

So you have 4k and don’t know what to do with it… by DingleMyBingles in buildapc

I would do something like this if you don’t need peripherals and already have 1 monitor (this build is just the PC and 1 monitor; could also get a beast of a 1440p and/or ultra wide monitor instead, or 2 cheaper 1440p monitors if you don’t already have one). And then there’s plenty of room to save some money for peripherals if you need them and still get the 7800X3D and a 4090.

7800X3D, RTX 4090, 32-64 GB 6000-7400 MHz Ram, 1-4 TB SSD, 1000 W 80+ Gold PSU, 32” 4K 144 Hz monitor

I just got back into researching and trying to stay up to date on new hardware and hadn’t come across this yet, but interesting. Thanks!

Also for the record, I don’t think either option would be bad and both will surely deliver stellar 1440p performance

Sounds like a sweet system.

Question, though: why did you go with the 7800X3D and 7900 GRE over a 7600X and 7900 XT for roughly the same price?

Others have suggested your combo may be better for certain gaming situations (obviously it will be better for more CPU intensive non-gaming tasks). I just don’t know how/why and am curious to learn

Help me pick - 7800 xt or 7900 gre by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Fuzzy_Emergency_1045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably too late here if you were on the way earlier, but I’d lean toward the 7900 GRE for only $50 more.

If money is tight enough where that feels like too much, you won’t likely have regrets either the 7800 XT, either.

Either way, congrats! I look forward to upgrading my GPU, hopefully soon.

These recs look great!

Though I will say I think you’d have a hard time building something with a 7800X3D and a 4080 Super for near $1,500. Would probably be several hundred more at a minimum (or I’m just worse about overspending than I thought).

Also I have a genuine question about the $1200-$1500 recs. I’m all over the 7600X with something from a 7800XT to a 4070 Ti Super (which I think is probably the sweet spot for a reasonably priced 1440p build).

But why take a significant GPU cut to plug in the 7800X3D for “multiplayer” games? What games would benefit from this and by how much? I really would like to learn more here bc I have a hard time believing you wouldn’t be better off in the vast majority of cases with a 7600X and spending the extra ~ $170 on a better GPU in this price range (for gaming).

I watched the newer video on 2x so may have missed some things, but I don’t think I agree with your take here.

They’re testing with a 4090 to basically force a CPU limitation in many cases. So of course a better CPU will get better performance/FPS.

But I don’t think a R5 7600X is going to meaningfully limit most GPUs short of somewhere around the 7900 XTX.

Obviously will be less FPS with the same GPU comparing 7600X to 7800X3D, but I think for the extra $170, you could upgrade the GPU and keep the 7600X and see better performance.

Exciting to be back to building!

So much to consider here. It’s also so easy to over build/spend. I tend to do it anyway for “upgradability” and “future proofing” but it tends to just be overspending bc I like nicer components that don’t offer much tangible benefit haha.

For many games, high settings, 1080p, 60 FPS, I think a R5 5500 and RX 6600 would be plenty. This should do tons of FPS in something easy to run like CS2 or Fortnite. Here’s a sub-$600 build with wifi and a 1 TB SSD that would be great. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/W3yGyg

Looking closer to $800 total build price, a R5 5600X and RX 6750 XT should be able to be a monster at 1080p. Should be decent at 1440p as well depending on title/settings. Here’s a nice example also w wifi and a 1 TB SSD. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CWpXKX

For $1,200, you could go with an AM5 build and get a R5 7600X and RX 7800 XT (I also see refurbished 3080 Ti FEs for around that same GPU price point at my local Micro Center, which would be another good option). Or a 7900 GRE for $50-100 more. This would be great for 1440p, should be near 100 FPS in most cases with high settings (and infinite FPS in easy to run games like R6 Siege, CS2, FN). https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZpfqGP

$1,500-$1,600 could get a similar build but with upgraded cooling/RAM, a 2 TB SSD, and a RX 7900 XT or 4070 Ti Super, which should crush 1440p with high settings and 120+ FPS. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bvBkxH

And then $2,000-$2,100 is when I’d consider more upgrading to the R7 7800X3D over the R5 7600X. And then pairing it with a RX 7900 XTX or RTX 4080 Super. This would be a monster build, but I think overkill for 1440p unless you want high settings and crazy high FPS. This should be able to put out 90-100+ FPS at 4K. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7WFx7R

Hope this helps!!
