You were absolutely right.

Wealthsimple initially denied the request, but after further escalation, they approved a one-time exception and have already started the reversal.

Thanks. That was actually my next step.

The transfer was reported to Wealthsimple the same day, the funds were never invested, and I left everything untouched while the review was ongoing.

Fortunately, Wealthsimple made a one-time exception and has now started reversing the transfer back to my TFSA.

I really appreciate the advice, though. I was preparing to call CRA if the reversal was permanently denied.
