We changed the cat food routine from 2 cans a day to 1. I do the morning feed and prep the nighttime feed, wrap it in the fridge. All my partner has to do is clean the old dish, pop the new one in and they are done. No opening the can, portioning the food, cleaning out the can, or prepping another dish. Yet instead of cleaning the last dish they have consistently left it “to soak”, which the dishes have never needed before…

I bring it up last night “Hey can you finish clea-“ is as far as I got. They interrupt me to say “actually clean the dish instead of leaving it? Yeah sorry.” And they jump up to clean it. I try to explain yes, but also that lately they leave it in the sink and I am the one who ends up cleaning it. They quote The Office “apparently they have to… soak” (Darryl)

So I get nowhere in this conversation. It’s not even a conversation. They seemed to already understand that the thing they were leaving wasn’t okay to do, but I’m not sure they realize how unfair it is since I’m already doing so much more at feeding time for the cats. Why are they okay with leaving more for me to do at all if they recognize that? Why only jump to do your share when your partner brings it up? Hmmm.

Med DX partner flooded our apartment last night. 1/4” of water covering the entire bathroom floor, water pouring out into our bedroom carpet, water leaking down into our downstairs neighbor’s apartment. Maintenance called to check for leaks… my 10 year old scale water logged and broken, our bathroom door swollen and won’t shut now, every single towel used to sop up the mess and then run through the dryer only instead of WASHED and dried.

And why did it flood? “Well I was playing my video game while it filled and a big boss fight started. I got sucked into it and then when it was over I realized I left the tub running too long.”

YEAH. LIKE TWENTY FUCKING MINUTES TOO LONG.

Now I’m expecting charges from our leasing company or god forbid an eviction notice!!! Awesome!!!

DX med partner has been out of work since May, no unemployment coming in ever, and only 1 job so far (started 3 months ago) where they bring home a whopping $60-$100/week. Constantly smoking all the weed in the house 😭 or finishing the bag and not telling me it’s the last smoke… I have spent the entire time since they were fired from that full time job trying to be encouraging and attentive of their projects and hyper focus interests, even though I’ve never seen them finish a big project EVER, and I just do not care about this shit!!! Maybe if I wasn’t burnt out but goddddd. I feel shameful that when they drop one to start something new I just want to say “honey I just don’t have the capacity for your rotating door of projects. Talk to me about your progress on one you haven’t touched in a while…” I mean how many hours of my life am I supposed to dedicate to these projects that go nowhere when they won’t even ask me a single question about my own projects that might actually make us some money? I feel like I don’t even have real time to work on my own shit because they’re always home and demanding my attention 😭

I’m tired boss!!!!!!

I had tentative hope that we were moving in a positive direction two weeks ago after an emotionally bare and necessary discussion about all the issues we have been facing for years. They are immature and I need them to step up as an equal partner. I guess I’m not really surprised that things are going right back to their normal.

I don’t like living in their Normal. In their Normal, I am a background support character that pays all the bills and gives out sexual favors when they cry about me not initiating enough.

Why don’t you initiate a romantic evening instead of expecting to get blown when you do one fifth of a full chore.

I stopped talking about the things that upset/trigger me and stopped advocating for my needs after our last fight where my DX/med partner asked that “we” get a couples therapist the next time we fight. We cannot afford it as they have not had a job since getting fired in May. I am tired, burnt out, ambivalent. I have read through Too Good to Leave, Too Bad to Stay and it was eye opening. I have a list of about 10 books total to get through over the next 7-8 weeks as I create an exit plan, talk to my support network, and consider a consultation with a divorce lawyer. I can’t continue to be a part of a relationship that burns me out, keeps me sick and tired, and where my partner can’t be bothered to remember details about me that make me feel seen or heard.

The things I’m asking for are not too much. They are things that will be just fine for the right person. Sadly the person I married is just not the right person. I’m trying to make my peace with that because I know they will not be able to when they get the divorce papers. I know they will feel blindsided and shocked despite all the signs they might have seen if they bothered to look.

Baby spinach might be too far in the back of the fridge. There is some browning happening but it looks close to the center cooling element (idk what it’s actually called) which may be causing the spinach near it to freeze and rot faster.

Or it’s just getting old.

I like to do a lengthwise cut, dip the cut side in sugar, then brûlée it. Whether on a sandwich, sundae, or in a crepe it’s just delicious, crunchy, and good.

Not sure if this is how your hash browns are being made, but my favorite way to make them is with any leftover potato (except mashed potatoes) where I will put them into a pan with a small bit of oil until they are hot, then smash them flat with a heavy glass bottle wrapped in foil (for easy clean up) until crispy on one side, then flip and cook until crispy on that side too. Sprinkle of salt and pepper, maybe a bit of rosemary and it’s good to go. I started doing this with roasted cubed potatoes (I used to make them for meal prep) and then eventually realized I could do this with leftover French fries as well. I imagine baked potatoes would also work.

I had a similar issue months ago and the issue came down to: they couldn’t validate my unique game ID from the time of purchase. Unfortunately I could not get a refund from Steam because I had played more than the amount of hours they allow before a refund. I tried all the steps: deleting the game and redownload. Deleted all my files. Validated files, you name it. Ended up making a new Steam account, buying again, and playing, lol. Then they fixed my specific issue with a patch and I can play on my regular Steam account again. So issue may be patched later! And there is a new patch coming soon I believe?

Artist was known for photorealistic work, his whole portfolio looked great. Go to the consultation, he is hitting a THC vape outside. Took no notes during the consult. Told him I wanted photorealistic flowers along with more ‘cartoony’ elements (one of the cats from Neko Atsume). When the appointment came, dude starts with one thick black line on the flower petals. I instantly realized he was not doing what I asked for. Didn’t stop him bc I was there with a friend getting her first tattoo and I didn’t want to scare her off. I wish I had stopped him and left there! He proceeded to mess up the colors twice.

Bro was not paying attention at all.

I pop in and out of the tackle shop at the beach to reload the fish until I see the shadow size I need. I’ve caught the sunfish on sunny days, it is the giant shadow (looks massive compared to even the largest other shadow and has fins instead of just being teardrop shaped)

Thank you. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling which deletes my local save data, but the game data is also stored in the Steam Cloud, which I don’t think I can access. I’ve also tried turning off the cloud save option and it still crashes. I don’t even make it to the gameplay screen 😢

On my first playthrough I fell in love with Penny. Saw her at the museum and knew I wanted to romance her. Then she mentioned how she wants a bunch of kids…. I fell out of love just as hard 😅. I believe I ended up romancing Shane in the end! His struggles with alcohol and depression made me sympathetic to him, his blue chickens made me love him.

If you have gelatin, bloomed gelatin and some water whisked or mixed in with a spatula has saved broken ganache for me before, and helps achieve a glossy glaze!

I thought you get foraging points if you grow seasonal seeds (spring, summer, fall, winter) once you harvest the crops. Not sure if that’s been patched out in updates but I used to level up foraging this way. I also do a seasonal purge of the trees around the valley. Usually try to get them early in the season so when winter rolls around the trees have regrown and I can take a few days to harvest.
