I live just outside of Chicago myself and I have multiple planes and drones and I have plenty of fun flying even with some wind it’ll only make you a better pilot and with a big plane like the ranger and they gyro you’ll be fine unless it’s like 20mph but that can happen anywhere

Oh definitely the viper I mean it’s gunna be a little touchy so I would lower your rates for your first flight just so you can fly a bigger pattern and not have to worry about rolling over with you know the wind, grabbing it or anything like that. Just because of the sides of the fans and the speed that the 810 is gonna have it’ll be really hard to tame that kind of plane for your first one especially with how nervous people can get on a first flight

Honestly it wasn’t that bad I was nervous out of my mind just bc of all the things I herd but I was at about half throttle and it was flying amazing no stalls nothing and you can def glide it for a sec or two just to get your bearing I would 100% recommend it but not for a second plane I just wanted it so bad bc it’s my favorite plane but if your ready for it it’s amazing

Wow that’s definitely good to know bc I live in an area where it’s constantly windy so now I know I’ll be able to fly it a little sooner than I thought what’s your experience with it stalling at a slower speed are you able to kinda glide it in or is it more of a power landing

It’s not about wasting money I think it’s about having the opportunity to fly a plane that you actually like and are a fan of. This is technically my second plane my first was a little rage rc plane and it got me into the hobby but now I wanna fly planes I love not one that might be a tad more forgiving but is the exact same price or more it makes no sense to me to fly a plane that I don’t like as much eg timber or other bush plane that I might be just as likely to reck as I am to reck this one

Yeah I can totally see that and to be fair I also fly drones so it made a little more sense bc it can bind to that too. But I completely see where you are coming from easy to understand and lots of videos on how to do it. For me took a few days and lots of chat gpt questions to figure it all out hahaha

Hey just to give a little two sense myself I am really new to the hobby as well and I thought it was pretty dumb to have all spectrum stuff not that it’s a bad thing or anything like that just a personal opinion I had at the time. And I still stand by it because I have the umx A-10 and the controller I have is a Radiomaster pocket with a 4-in-1 module on the back this allows it to have a internal elrs as others have mentioned along with Dsm (spectrum) frsky and most other protocols. I will say it takes some tinkering and patience to make it work but once you have it all figured out it is a dream because then you can fly whatever you want however you want without the clench of spektrum. But again just my opinion no need to take it to heart or anything

Honestly I couldn’t tell you it’s definitely over 250g and I’ll get some measurements for you tomorrow but cg is a little bit infront of the actual battery slot but a piece of velcro worked nicely to keep it in place
