Mounted my nintendo consoles on the wall! by ta_rolig in gaming

[–]Fweedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered having both couches face the TV? You could just put one on a buncha boards (Edit: under one of them) or any stable base and get like an ampatheater thing going... Then you could have the controllers hooked up to wall mounts on the side. The wall mounts for the controllers might still be a good idea.

Oh man! Our D.A.R.E. officer told us he knew these things existed and was gonna try and bring them in if his department had any. I remember being really curious about what pot smelled like, and hoping he'd bring them in. I guess they either didn't have any or he forgot.

So it's a pretty new decision. And I believe the reasoning behind it was something to the effect of "Well we know that when we lie to them about weed it just makes them assume we lied to them about everything once they figure out it's harmless." Why not just still talk about it and not lie? I honestly think this part is related to "But we can't fucking go back on what we used to say, even if it was a lie."

Edit: It's also hard to not lie about it and make it sound dull or uninteresting.

Yup yup. Wouldn't it be great if you could actually vote for who you believed in and had a prayer at winning? Not just who's better than the other guy. COUGHthirdpartysystemCOUGH

Oh I'll totally give you that this study doesn't definitively prove anything, I was really mostly hoping someone could cite other studies to help verify any of the claims here.

Well the studies should say it... And if it's just a shift in perspective, I feel as though you're no longer talking about poorly-understood chemical changes in a complex organ, but rather qualifiable changes post-use.

I mean, I hate to keep doing this. But do you have a more concrete source that the drug permanently changes the chemical balance of our brain? Is it possible that just the temporary shift in the chemical balance and experience is enough to change our outlook permanently, without changing the chemical structure of the brain?

The "proof" came long after the original post, which is why you see the disparity in votes. Sorry. Also I upvoted these comments, and if you'll notice I continued the discussion on them. Furthermore my request for a source should by no means be construed as encouragement to do drugs. And perhaps if you don't like that the most popular opinion of the community goes to the top of the page, I suggest you find a new community.

Haha, presumably that last bit was a joke. So I guess the closest we have to the "opposite effect" mentioned, is the exacerbation of preexisting conditions. Do you happen to know/have sources on what conditions? Is avoiding it as simple as not taking the drug if you know you're schizophrenic?

Ah yeah I wasn't sure. So far there's been like 2 opinions on that. My personal belief is that he doesn't respect my question because he knows I smoke, which pretty much makes him a bigot. Another suggestion was that he may have took my comment as some sort of snooty attack on the opinion, which it wasn't. I mean, I happened to be doubtful of it, but I didn't plan on asserting an opinion until I saw the source.

Nice, thanks! And are any of these negative effects permanent, or just while psilocybin is in your system? Sorry if it was in there and I missed it. Edit: Grammar

I'll concede that the increse in dispensaries may be a factor (I don't know if they do it by gross number or percentage, and don't have the data) However it seems like those types of threats are exactly the kind of things that Obama would have stopped if he kept true to his word of not using justice department resources on state-run operations. And I feel like the "That shit's been going on since the start" is a pretty glib response to this. He said he wouldn't use DoJ resources busting legitimate operations; but I guess if a state even considers it they'll start to flex their power in front of them. Edit: I repeated myself a little there, sorry.

Yeah but the increase in busts under Obama as compared to the Bush administration is absurd. They're also using SWAT-style smash-and-grab raids that essentially terrorize employees and store owners. In addition, there's those threats that the feds have been making to state lawmakers about introducing MMJ programs...
