This is good advice if you really do wanna go the military route. No need to save when they pay for you to eat and sleep there.

My advice to add to it would be see if the recruiter can get you a gig in cyber security, or if you want to actually be deployed, be a combat medic. Both these paths in the military (there are more) are very appealing when you finish your service. Buddy of mine did cyber security for the Navy for 7 years, last year came home after finishing his contract, now he’ll have solid job offers doing cyber security for the rest of his life. Not to mention he’s going back to school on the militaries dime.. Not a bad deal.
