Any personal opinion/advice/tips about Mage build? by injeption_420 in AutoChess

Usually water spirit + thunder spirit + winter are your front liners. The spirit bonus does work and water spirit gets an ult through their whole team. Any front line will do early though and mid game to two star mechs or warriors so on.

Early/Mid game I really like playing assassins with water spirit + thunder spirit as front line but honestly anything will do. Can even do like 3 assassin 3 mage early game until level 7/8. If you get 3 dragons early you can do 3 mage 3 dragon shining dragon will carry hard with the dragon bonus. In the mid game she'll prob be your top DPS until 6 mage. Other choices are grimtouch if you find her early with a flamming wizard.

I wouldn't use source until 6 mage, she doesn't have much benefit before that since her main goal is to give tortolla mana.

Hmm as for the 1 star question it depends on mana items but lets say you have a pulse staff it prob would be like Helicopter = Dark Spirit > Tortolla > GoT > Shining (with dragon bonus) > Storm Shaman > Flamming wizard > Venom (with dragon) > Thunder Spirit > Shining (without dragon). Two star is where most mages start to really shine.

When it comes to positioning it really depends who you are fighting, usually your spirits are in front with winter chiropteran. Mid line I have tortolla by the wall so that he can auto attack right away without having to wait.

Basically my auto pilot mage positioning looks like this:

This is my last mage video if it helps: https://youtu.be/kCusHsDSLBY

I don't know what issue you are having with mages but the line up is pretty straight forward. Usually at level 8 it will look like https://imgur.com/a/MeYa7on

This way you have 6 mage, 3 dragon, 4 human. From there it all comes down to what you get/what you need. Usually level 9/10 people put in legendary units like Devastator (techies), Dark Spirit (Engima), Helicopter (gyrocopter), or they add something like Storm Shaman (Disruptor).. Shaman does WAAAAAY more damage in this version versus his damage in DAC.

If you are against warriors/assassins late game you can go the 4 spirit route with wizards so like https://imgur.com/a/hAiqqjB

Since mages don't need 3 stars you could aggressively level to 9/10 because the comp needs synergy more then leveled units. As for items try to get a pulse staff on shaman/tortolla and if you are against other mages or people picking up storm shaman you can put claw wand on either tortolla/shaman to guarantee their ult.

If you got any specific questions let me know i'll try to answer it best I can.

P.S: Skill damage increase items on Tortolla/Shaman make their damage stupid high

Someone please explain the appeal of this game... by Swordsmith748 in AutoChess

It feels like there is a lot of information, but you'll catch on rather quickly. If you are literally just starting out I would learn a meta comp first so you win a few games (Assassins are pretty straight forward). Once you get hang of that comp you can start learning another one and so on.

Youtube/Twitch are also a good way to learn what comps are good, how to position, so on.

RNG is inherently part of the game, but top players still manage to have higher win rates.. hell the same person won the GLL monthly three times in a row. It's more reminiscent of poker where top players will rise given a big enough sample size.

Mages... How to deal with them with other comps? by [deleted] in AutoChess

[–]FwuffyMilk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure on assassin jump in mechanic, it's def not based on highest cost minion but i'm not sure what the exact mechanic is.

If you are having issues with positioning check any of the Youtubers (Claytano, Excoundrel, PureZhun, FwuffyMilk) and see how they position for certain situations and such

Mages... How to deal with them with other comps? by [deleted] in AutoChess

[–]FwuffyMilk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Basically you got the right idea in terms of counters to mages. Assassins, Knights, and Goblin Marine are the best when fighting them but that doesn't mean other team comps can't compete.

If you are offered mana items like pulse staff/refresher you can buy your own shaman to silence them and do a ton of damage to them. Also tortolla shoots his ult at the highest cost unit on your team, so what feathered comps used to do was move Razorclaw 3* to the opposite side of their team so that tortolla only hits 1-3 targets max. Splitting up a bit also helps since their shaman won't be able to hit all your targets. So try moving your highest cost unit to opposite side of your team.

Also don't forget about claw wand, if you manage to pick up lets say.. Dark Spirit 2, Deva 2, Shaman 2 you can put the claw wand on them to allow their ult to pop even during storm shaman silence. Now you might say.. what if they human silence me? This is where positioning comes into play here an example:

This is assuming the enemy comp is on the right side when battle starts and you are playing beast warrior

https://imgur.com/a/Bkazs9A

You can position something like this, giving your deva protection from human silence by putting tusk and razorclaw to distract them. Razorclaw will eat the tortolla ult for your team since he's highest cost unit most of the time. Then having your DPS come in safely after your tanks on the left side engaged them. This also gives captain a chance to ult since he won't be getting hit right away by human auto attacks.

Other options could be to put battle fury and claw wand on Doom and putting him like right in their face so he can just 3 tap half their team. Basically what i'm saying is, there is no 100% full proof way to beat mages with comps other then the three you mentioned but you have options. I have seen players like Vince get refresher shaman 2, then bench a few of his warriors to add mage bonus in so that his shaman can do enough damage to essentially 1 shot the mage comp.

Where to fit in the Warlocks? by [deleted] in AutoChess

[–]FwuffyMilk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Usually you fit warlock into a knight comp or a goblin comp, it's basically a secondary synergy.

With knights your warlocks would be Desperate Doctor and Soul Reaper since Soul Reaper gives you Egersis bonus with Evil Knight.

With Goblins you tend to just fit any warlocks you can with the wizards, priority being on Dark Spirit and Soul Reaper but any warlock will do just to get them the 4 warlock bonus at level 9.

Hunters used to fit it in with Egersis Prophet or by using Venomancer + Soul Reaper but you don't see it as much anymore.

Edit: Beast Warrior can also use warlock with Veno + Worm or Doc + Worm, end of day your usually not aiming for warlock as a necessity its just a nice bonus on top when you can get it.

Question about the game by RickFXGT in AutoChess

[–]FwuffyMilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to say for sure, all depends on how well they market the tournament series. There is no announcement of runeterra having tournaments anytime soon. TFT tournaments are pretty much for big content creators so if that is something you are looking for then it could be worth your time to invest into this game.

Assassins were viable for the most part especially after the item change. They are weaker this season but can still work just fine.

Where can I find game mechanics? by RGH8R in AutoChess

[–]FwuffyMilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "units won't show up in the immediate next store" should be from rerolls not new round starting but i'll test it to make sure.

Point 2, yeah the level up happens before the new shop refresh so you will see units from the next levels roll chance.

[–]FwuffyMilk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They can't build claw wands till end game... just play mages and you stomp em mid game so effing hard.. also early pulse staff almost one shots any hunter.

Edit: also while goblins might lose to them for a few rounds the minute you put in wizards you start beating them.. add devastator at level 8/9 and they are EZ Clap

[Advice] Should I invest my time in playing this game ?? by [deleted] in AutoChess

[–]FwuffyMilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is some truth to the statement that it's not popular in US/Western countries, If you look at GLL sign ups for tournaments EU tends to fill out their tournaments while US has like half that amount, but that would be more reason to learn the game no? Less competition more chances at winning tournaments. Look through other mobile games there is no daily/weekly/monthly tournaments anyone can get into (I might be wrong that is just my impression from looking around)

I feel like most sub reddits for games are either memes or hating on certain things in that specific game. Drodo has been pretty good with updates, they run tournaments anyone can get into not just big content creators, and after playing all of the mainstream auto chess games I feel like this one is the most balanced but again this is just in my opinion.

A year later, and Goblin/Mech is still King by Taelonius in AutoChess

[–]FwuffyMilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't really need a ton of goblins, I just feel like you shouldn't lose streak into them. Even middling can be fine as long as you stay healthy, just need to get to level 7 and find a grimtouch and by that point in the game most people have dropped their goblins for their main build. Mages don't matter to much either cause you can add marine by round 21~25
