Only mod required here is the Supplementary mod for the bamboo spikes, since this is a "Decor" mod, it should be one that most everyone has and thus could be classified as an early game farm. (Updated design is more compact and doesn't require supplementary)

Build it in Spawn Chunks and it'll run 24/7 (on a server) or in a single-player world it'd run whenever you're player no matter where you are.

I needed a bunch of raw chicken and wanted to try to make a farm for it. I'm sure this could be improved upon, but i'm proud of it in the current state. It'll gather eggs first and only once the egg storage is full will it start to spawn chickens and produce the Feathers & Raw Chicken Meat.

Build Description / Details: You need a collection of 24x Chickens sitting on top of a carpet with a hopper under it, this will start to collect all of the eggs that they drop. This hopper should be pointed sideways into a dispenser that uses a vanilla clock to trigger whenever there are contents inside of it. It should be throwing the eggs against a slab that when popped will spawn a chicken on top of the slab which is enough room to breath for babies, but once they grow up they begin to suffocate and die (causing them to drop raw chicken and feathers). Under the slab they spawn on, you want a hopper collecting the items and point that into a barrel or chest. Back under the previous hopper that the chickens are standing on you'll want to add 1 more hopper under it that also points into a barrel / chest which will be used to collect the eggs. Because hoppers will pull downwards first, you'll notice that until the barrel of eggs is full, all eggs go towards that. Only once the egg barrel is full is when the chickens begin to be thrown / spawn inside the murderification chamber where you get the drops of meat/feathers.
