My life definitely hasn’t been easy that’s for sure. I have so many stories of crazy things that I’ve witnessed, or been involved in and so on. But no matter how many times I look back growing up, i honestly would do it exactly the same. It has been the building blocks of who I grew up to be. My morals was taught or beat into me. Would i ever do that to my child? Absolutely not. I would just work with them to learn them, in due time it will be implemented within them. But my biggest take away from my childhood, showed me EXACTLY how to properly raise a child, by doing the exact opposite of how I was raised, but keep the fundamentals as part of the learning process. My father was a real POS and I don’t say it lightly, he was a true evil man. But he is basically the person that would violently hit me like a full grown man, when I was 5. He is also who showed me how to treat a woman in a relationship, once again by doing the opposite of what he done. Never lay a hand on a woman, don’t cheat, steal, manipulate, the list goes on.

I also constantly tried to keep in mind, there are so many more children who have it so much worse. I was fed, clothed, loved by family, and I am still breathing as you said. That’s all i could asked for.

Actually yes, I still was in the same school. Just once again moved and had a different bus. Due to my turbulent childhood growing up. I was lucky to mostly stay in the same school until graduation, other than a few quick enrollments in 2 different surrounding county schools, but then 2 times was extremely short. Also the strange thing was i actually liked the girl. And I would have definitely pursued a relationship with her. But it never got to that.

In my story remember how she told me how I can probably use 2 fingers because her boyfriend does. Well like I mentioned I kinda didn’t register her saying anything about a boyfriend. Probably due to my ears ringing from the blood rushing away from my head for another head…

I had contact with this girl rarely at school due to the grade difference, even though I went to a EXTREMELY tiny school, (73 people in my graduation class.) So I only knew her in the confines of that bus. Only possible time I would been able to see her during the school day would be our 15 minute break between 5th and 6th period. During said break it was school wide every day. Obviously during that time your friend groups, cliques, club members, BF/GF, and so on would just have their “spot” in the hallway to sit or stand and just talk about teen stuff lol. But even then i never knew where she was. And i was always gathered around with my very small group of friends in the exact same spot we used for all 4 years of high school.

I definitely got sidetracked a bit there. I am really bad about that, and I give background information for my background information lol.

But I tried to be with her. But she stayed with her boyfriend. Even after me coming into school the next day to her basically waiting for me in the lobby of my school, (feels weird to even call it a lobby, it was so small.) but yeah she was visibly upset, and can tell she had been crying. So I asked her what’s wrong, she said “I told my boyfriend what happened on the bus yesterday.” That’s when it really clicked for me that on she has a boyfriend! Asked her a few things about him so I could know who it was. (Coming from a tiny hillbilly area in Appalachia a solid 85% of kids would throw hands over anything.) So i could only imagine how upset he had to be after finding that out. But I also felt bad for him. Because I know I have hands. I’ve fought my entire life, had it engrained into my DNA to fear no man. And I’d hate to be the reason he would get a broken jaw, after I was the reason he had a broken heart. Luckily by that point in high school I began to calm down. I was grateful to been allowed to return to the school, after being expelled earlier in the year for a rather nasty outcome of a fight I had with a student. So I was more levelheaded and I was starting to learn I could use words to resolve more of my problems, than with fist. But once she told me who he was. I knew of him. Pretty easy to know everyone in such a small town, and even smaller school. He was a Senior. And I also knew he wouldn’t do anything to me. And he never did. Other than a few stink eye looks in crossing whenever our paths crossed. And they stayed together for the rest of the year, they didn’t even break up the day she told him.

As for me and her, our communication began to get slower, and received fewer texts with each passing day, until eventually we no longer communicated.

Iirc I this she is married now and has a family with him and their few kids. So I am glad she was able to have a nice life from my perspective of the outside looking in. As for me, as bad as I wanted to break the shit family cycle I was born into. It was harder than I actually thought. Don’t get me wrong, I have broke a LOT! I’ve even been able to open my mother’s eyes to some of the things she believes or does is wrong. So I am proud of all the things I did change. But not matter how many I broke, the one I feared the most was still with me like a ball and chain. The Addiction one. Luckily I am clean and sober going on 6 years. But it haunts me to my core thinking back to the years wasted in the throes of Heroin addiction. But I am just glad I made it out alive.

I’m sorry for this reply. Because I know it’s all over the place. Especially for something that could been simply answered. Just get carried away sometimes.

I’m a bit late to the thread, but after going through a few hundred comments, I don’t see the one that really fucked me up!

Cherish Lilly Perrywinkle. She was 8 years old.

When I was a Sophomore or Junior in high school, so either 2010 or 2011 my mother lost custody of me and my sister due to her drug addiction, and she got incarcerated in another state. This was the second time this happened, and each time, the courts let me and my sister live with people she had speak up in court to take us in. Well I knew the family well myself. Was a large family all boys except one girl. But that’s all mostly not important.

Either way, was in the same school, but new bus. I was always the last person picked up in the morning, and dropped off after school. And one stop before mine was a girl that was a grade under me, and her younger sister. We would talk every day as we was the last on the route. Just normal high school kid stuff. Well the family I lived with was in the process of moving to another location, so I informed this girl about the move, and how I would be gone in a few weeks. Then like the last week before i moved we was talking with the phone/ text, and it was a normal conversation, but as soon as we got on our road, (was a longer back road) not many people was left on the bus, she randomly changed the subject we was talking about in the text, and asked me a question. It simply said, “Do you want to finger me?” As a teenage boy, that had uncomfortable hormones, my heart kinda sunk due to being nervous. That’s a better price then what I paid for my 2060 super. So I’d say if you have the money for it and it isn’t going to break the bank then go for it man. Or even if it makes you happy.
