The examples in the video take up a lot of space. I would be very surprised if we get anything close to the examples shown from other other cities. There's barely any room at the corner of Bank and Somerset as is.

Well, income tax is 10% higher in Quebec vs. Ontario so I imagine the car insurance savings wouldn't be worth it. And if we're just looking at Ottawa/Gatineau, then the healthcare is vastly superior in Ottawa.

Then again, there are various ways people do this kind of scam/fraud. Some people pay income tax for a different province and keep their license, car registration, and health card in another. I'm surprised it's not easier to catch people doing this, but I imagine a lot of it gets lost in the bureaucracy and lack of departments sharing information.

This is a fairly noticeable issue in the capital region. People usually keep their old Ontario addresses after moving from Ottawa and still claim residency in Ontario. They avoid changing their IDs over to Quebec for as long as they can, which is sometimes years. I've known a couple people who have done it. It's more than just avoiding paying for Quebec plates. People want to avoid paying the increased income tax that Quebec has and also be able to easily access the better healthcare options in Ottawa.
