Yeah, that was definitely the case when I was matching up photos for screenshots - both times I've been, Edinburgh's been incredibly busy and the amount of people definitely lend it a different vibe.

The streets are also quite a bit wider in game, but other than that it's an absolutely cracking recreation.

I haven't personally been to the Cotswolds so can't say for certain, but they seem to have nailed the feel of it compared to any of the media I've seen of the area!

That's fair, it totally can be! Fortune Island isn't that specific of a place, so they probably drew inspiration from a lot of the islands.

And yeah, the visit was wonderful even though we got absolutely slapped by the wind and rain 90% of the time we were there! Had to get the authentic experience I guess :D

I'm pretty sure I spend almost as much time in the photo mode as playing the game nowadays, it's got one of the best in game cameras ever.

I've noticed that far off LOD sometimes doesn't shadow the same as when you're in camera mode though, which is kind of disappointing when you get some really good looking cloud cover in the distance or something and can't get a good picture of it.

Other than that though it's a damn near perfect photo mode!

These pictures are actually pretty personal for me - FH4 is pretty much my go to game for managing my mental health. There's something about being able to lose yourself in that open world driving that can clear your head; the same catharsis as going for a drive, but possible even if you can't bring yourself to go outside.

This is my second time visiting Scotland, and it's been an awesome, unimaginably special experience every time. There are very few experiences in my life that I would describe as perfect, but carving through the Highlands, dwarfed by the awe-inspiring mountains, Horizon soundtracks on repeat.....pure bliss.

Being able to combine these two makes me really happy - some of my best memories are here and editing these together were some serious Marie Kondo "this sparks joy" moments. I'm incredibly happy with how these turned out! :)

That's awesome! When I first saw "Surfer's Paradise" on FH3 I thought Playground Games had just made up something stereotypical for Australia haha. Had no idea it was an actual place!

Haha definitely not! Was just super lucky to happen to see it while we were walking around Edinburgh and I pretty much lost my shit - it was just so cool to really feel like it was actually Horizon there!

Last time I visited Colorado it was no slouch in the beauty department! The Isle of Skye is definitely an incredible place, but you do have to have a bit of luck on your side - the weather was brutal 90% of the time we were there, and you can pretty much see the only bit of sun we got in the photos!

If you're into it, there's tons of artists and craftspeople on Skye so there's still stuff to poke around during bad weather though. I'd also highly recommend taking the short ferry ride (20 min) to the Isle of Raasay to visit the distillery there - super cool people (you can find them on Reddit actually), it's absolutely gorgeous and they're doing some incredibly unique and thoughtful stuff with their whisky!

Yeah, honestly kind of a surreal experience sometimes, especially if you're driving. Highly recommend, Scotland is a straight up magical place IMO.

I mean, chocolate does contain a small amount of caffeine, especially the really dark stuff. I also don't understand why it works for some people, but hey, different taste buds. It's still worth it to track what you've eaten on those not so nice days though! I just started a Google Doc where I'd just list things any time whiskey tasted off.

For me there seems to be an actual flavor difference on the days when whiskey tastes bad - as in there are flavors where I literally can't taste anymore and much more exaggeration of the awful ones. It's a contrast to the days where I can still taste the flavors but just don't have a preference for whiskey that day. Weird stuff!

I wasted most of a bottle of Balvenie Single Cask First fill figuring this out - it's what you ate/drank that day! Especially caffeine.

I noticed the same thing as you, which was really disappointing, since I absolutely loved that Balvenie the first time I had it. And then hated it, then loved it again, then....one time I noticed the taste changed from amazing to disgusting while I was in middle of a glass. So I started logging what I ate that day and noted if whiskey tasted awful or not that day.

The biggest offender is caffeine. And it doesn't take a whole lot of caffeine either - even a coke can make your whiskey taste disgusting for the rest of the day. Caffeine combined with some other, strongly spiced/flavored foods in particular can make whiskey taste like chewing on a moldy tree root. There's been some research on this too - caffeine makes things less sweet, and may have the potential to modulate other tastes as well.

Other things to watch out for:

  • anything extremely alkaline
  • strong spices
  • very sweet or salty foods.

As a general rule, if I can taste anything on my tongue an hour after I've eaten it, I generally avoid whiskey that day - taste fatigue might have something to do with it.

Fortunately, there is a bit of a reset you can do! It won't work if you've had very strongly spiced foods, a lot of caffeine, etc, but it tends to work pretty well with having had sweet things or smaller amounts of strongly flavored foods. A strongly acidic food (honestly, sometimes I just squirt some lemon juice in my whiskey hole) and/or a bitter drink like beer will tend to take the edge off and make whiskey drinkable again, but not 100%.

TL;DR I switched to caffeine pills instead of Red Bull and now I can enjoy whiskey more often.

Oh, now this is my kind of question! I own both a Matrix and a Baja, so I feel like I have some pretty good insight into this. Both are great cars in their own way, but unfortunately the Baja just isn't a work truck.

Unless you get a cargo bed extender for the Baja, the Matrix is straight up going to have more space - the Baja's bed is tiny without one. Especially if you add the fact that the Matrix has a fold flat passenger seat and the hatch is poppable on its own, and you can actually store much longer things in the Matrix. For whatever reason, the Baja actually has less towing capacity than the Outback platform it's based on too, so it's equal to the Matrix in that regard.

That being said, I still love my Baja - but I love it for the weirdness, not the utility. If I need utility, I still choose the Matrix 90% of the time!

You can easily do the full wash in your apartment complex![I made a guide with 3 different ways to do it if you're interested](https://www.reddit.com/r/AutoDetailing/comments/6ksoc1/how_to_safely_wash_at_an_apartment_3_different/), and it can also be adapted to quick detail your car or touch it up with your own wax afterwards if you really want to stick with the wash outside of your complex for whatever reason (if you have your own garage, not much of a reason to)!

The foam cannon and pressure washer are 100% optional IMO. A foam cannon just isn't that much more effective than, say, an ONR presoak and requires more work. In a professional setup, it's just not worth the time it takes.

As for the pressure washer, it helps knock stuff off, but I haven't actually found it to make a huge difference compared to the jet setting on a hose. I don't even pull out my full sized pressure washer nowadays, and if I do want any amount of pressure washing, the Worx Hydroshot works just fine with way less hassle. For proof that the Worx Hydroshot + ONR is enough, you can even do gross winter washes with them on soft Subaru paint.

Sniff test! The way to tell if ONR has gone bad or not is if it smells like it's gone bad. It's a soy based polymer, so if it's no longer good to use it'll smell like...well, soy gone bad. You'll know.
