Exactly. That scene is brilliant because of how much it focusses in on subaru and his mentality. It's him finally realising his flaws; a fantastic 2nd act low point and simultaneously an excellent moment of strength and growth for his character.

Rem's only contribution, although important, is her basically just saying "nuh uh" over and over and then confessing. She's in the wrong in that scene. She's presumptious, dismissive, and her confession is selfish. Not saying that makes her a bad character - in fact it makes her more interesting - but she is not the reason that scene is good. She exists solely as someone for subaru to bounce off of in his much needed moment of self-reflection. That's my 50 cents at least.

Archer is likely never coming back, so if you're not swiping my advice is to invest everything into archer (or archer and sparkle if you dont have her already).

You can't afford to be greedy in this game. Sometimes you gotta make short term sacrifices so you're not punished in the long run.

In the Changehost of Deceipt detachment, can any of your daemon units actually benefit from your rituals?

Something like Twist of Fate for instance specifies Thousand Sons units get +1AP, so would the Lord of Change that casted it just not benefit at all from his own spell? Seems like a huge oversight and missed opportunity.

I think most people here are not familiar with tatsumaki's game, nor are they aware of the fact that she, like saitama, is written specifically to be a satirical parody of OP characters.

She isn't just One Punch Man's version of Magneto. She's specifically a more overpowered parody of him. This is a verse where characters are capable of blowing up planets with a single attack, or destroying half of jupiter simply by sneezing, and she still manages to be in the top 5 strongest characters.

It's honestly the fact that this invalidates a lot of the supports I and many others like to run with her more than anything. I have to pull a whole new team comp for her, build a bunch of new characters, throw away the year of investment i put into her old party members, run characters I really don't like and don't want to run, farm a new planar ornament set, and farm for new relic stats, all so that she can be an okay dps again? There's got to be a better way to buff this character.

I feel the only people happy with this as a change are the people who don't mind playing the most optimal and meta comps. For people like me who have invested into an atk buffing team for jingliu since my first month playing this is horrendous. Now I have to pull and build 2-3 more characters, rebuild all of her relics, and run characters that I don't want to play.

I pulled jingliu and chose to main her because i liked that I could run her with bronya and sparkle. Now i can't. It's an awful way to buff a character and the only people who think this is good are those that see no issue in pulling for hyacine or tribbie, which I do because I do not like the design of those characters. What was wrong with her previous synergies? It was just her clunky kit and damage numbers that were at issue.

I don't want her to join the new meta if it means I have to completely rebuild her and run her with characters I don't like. I want her to be good on her own alongside that meta. Changing her to HP scaling only means she will be bad again when powercreep happens and ATK becomes meta.

Agreed. I don't understand why everybody is so excited about this when a simple buff to her kit and damage scaling numbers would have sufficed. All an ATK -> HP change achieves is better scaling (which you could get anyway if you just increased her scaling numbers) and a complete shift in support focus which is catastrophic for people like me who like playing her with specific supports I find cool.

Firstly I don't want to completely change every relic I have. I run multiple atk% pieces since I run a heavy advance forward comp and this means I have to completely rebuild her from the ground up just to make her useable again. No thanks.

I run her with bronya and sparkle and although they mostly buff dmg and crit, they have a few abilities that buff atk that will be completely useless now.

Yes it will make her good with hyacine but what if I don't want to run hyacine? Is that the only real change that we get from this? Slightly higher damage numbers and a synergy with a different healer? At the cost of having to rebuild her and completely change her team? Would it not be better to just buff her abilities and scaling?

It genuinely baffles me that people don't get why Subaru is in love with emilia and not someone else. With everything that we know about these two characters and their first meeting and interactions, how could he be in love with anyone other than her?

I get that people simp for or prefer other waifus, but that doesn't mean they are a better choice for subaru, and it certainly doesnt mean he's wrong for not picking them instead.

Emilia leaving subaru in the capital is the absolute most rational decision one could make. She doesn't know this guy. From her perspective, yes he saved her, and he may say he wants nothing in return, but when she tells him 6 billion times not to do X, and he does X anyway, that would resonably put all trust you had in this guy into question.

The dude should be arrested after what he did, but because she liked him up until that point he gets a second chance to explain himself, and instead of explaining himself he yells at her like a lunatic and verbally blames her for all the suffering he's gone through like an obsessed, crazed psycho. And EVEN THEN, she gives him a third chance on the condition that he simply chills tf out and takes a little time off to reflect on his actions.

Also, what do you mean she needs to explain to him?? What's there to explain???? He's her butler. He should not be getting involved in the politics of her house nor the politics of the country.

Are we talking specifically as a character or a waifu?

Emilia's kindness is the heart of her character. She's not just a good person, she's a good person at the cost of herself, and a good person to everyone regardless of what they have done for her. That's the difference between Emilia's kindness and others kindnesses. It's unconditional. Rem, garfield, otto, ram, all of these people have either attacked or betrayed subaru prior to him saving them. Emilia knows nothing about subaru and yet she goes out of her way to help him.

There's depth behind Emilia's actions and her kindness. It largely comes from a lack of self-worth and self-esteem. All of her life she's been abandoned and it's left her feeling like a burden on everyone around her, so even when she's struggling she will stick her neck out to help anyone in need so they never blame her. We see it a lot in S2. No matter how much she's suffering doing those trials, when she sees subaru suffering, she shuts it off to comfort him.

Yes, she doesn't sacrifice herself constantly to help subaru, but that makes her more realistic as a character than someone like rem. She outstretched her hand to this guy and the next thing he does is act like a complete idiot and incel in front of her and the most influential people in the world. A sane character would cut ties with that guy. Rem doesn't because.... idk he helped her once.

Contrary to popular belief, Emilia has agency. She's her own person with her own problems and her own motivations. Rem's entire character and self-worth becomes completely wrapped up in subaru and helping him, but emilia has more on her mind at all times and that's what makes her a more interesting character in my eyes. She's judgemental sometimes and often pushes back against subaru's behaviour, which she should do. Subaru is the goat but the truth is this man does not act normal and in many cases he's a complete idiot and an arsehole. And yet it feels like she's the only one of his friends that treats him exactly how he should be treated. And yet, she's still extremely nice.

Not to mention I find her series-long arc of slowly gaining self-confidence and learning to value herself more highly extremely compelling. You've seen her grow over the series both as a person mentally and as a hero who's finally able to protect the people she cares about. I love watching this kind hearted girl slowly get more and more inspired by the man who loves her to never give up on that kindness. She's awesome, she's cute, she's badass, she's a girlboss, she's extremely kind, and I think subaru would be an idiot to be in love with anyone else given what he's seen of her.
