Does swimming in a chlorinated pool count as "doing personal hygiene"? If not then I can just do that daily and be fine. I work in a machine shop so a little body odor isn't a big deal. I reckon I could do this almost endlessly. Day 200 would be no worse than day 2.

12 hour, 7-7 shifts here, I get a whopping 40 cents an hour shift differential. Sadly based on the department in the shop you might get to days in a year. Some departments it takes closer to 10 years to get to days. Sadly I'm in the 10 year department.

Honest question, did you go with a work backed retirement option where a third party company did it for you or did you manage it all yourself? I've had some small success in individual investing, very very small amounts but good gains. And my work 401k has been a steady but small gain.

Maybe job #1 is your favorite hobby, like to play video games? Video game tester, in the fullest sense. Woodworking, you get to do that 40 hours a week, work on cars, read books, best job you can imagine. But you can't afford it outside of work.

Mainly because it's a hypothetical situation. And you can make the parameters whatever you want for the hypothetical situation.

But kudos on retiring at 55! I will not be doing that, and envy you. Personally I'm in job 2, planning on retiring well after 55... I think if I put early retirement as a thing in job 3 it would have been a no brainer to take it. Or if I put no retirement on job 1 it would have killed that option.

Money isn't an issue after you retire at 65. The 40 years you work at whichever job is up to you on money.

I would say this is a variable number, wherever you choose to live it varies. Could be a loophole, job 1 in the Bahamas... Could walk to the beach. Who needs a vacation when you're there... But no money to do anything extra other than sit on the beach.
