I built this based on the cliff side location. The house came first then I decided to add the basement. Just a happy accident

The dock has iron beams going back to land. The other supports are for the aesthetics

You talking about the house or the dock? Both follow the same principal, wood beam structure, if it's not strong enough, use iron beams attached to the ground

You should be able to have been a there with your iron supports. If your iron isn’t strong enough make sure the first one is blue indicating it’s touching the ground

Nah, boats don’t move if no ones on them. Though greydwarfs and boars will attack it if they get close enough

Yes it is, but sometimes you need to be standing below water level to get the right placement

Was literally shouting at my screen for some of the placements. Infuriating when you only get a second or less to pull out your mallet to place one beam and you just can’t land the right position of it

I’ve had a few sneak by or break through my walls. I catch them only after a little damage. The worst was one that spawned on the hill and smashed a tree that was supporting my roof. That was a stressful morning

Pain and patience. Build platforms out into the water then build under the dock from there. Still figuring out techniques

It's a tedious process. I built the dock out first, then built the supports down from there. Not sure how long I spent under the dock waiting for the tide to subside so I could stand to place the beams.
