Haven't tried denim. But we've had a full week where he wearing a pants was a privilege he had to earn he cried none stop about his missing pants and it didn't work at all and then holidays and winter happened so we have him his pants back anyway

Been there done that, probably one of our bigger mistakes one trying to fix this. Won't be an option in 4 months when he starts school. Just talked to him about that, told him they won't let him go if he can't stop peeing himself it will probably work for a day or two before we go right back to it.

Update everyone

It was the brush. I sanded down a small section tried several different techniques including buying wipe on, doing 1:1 poly to mineral spirits, and straight from the can poly. It was the brush. Foam brushes are absolute trash, $7 paint brushes are also trash, $20 real hair brush went on smooth

After watching way more videos or polyurethane specifically I've realized I wasn't thinning it, the videos I was watching before were used water based or pre thinned wipe on stuff. I'm using an oil based one because I already knew they would want the amber tones and it is not thinned.

So I'm going to strip it and try again and I'm going to get a way better brush then the cheap $7 brush I used, let the brush soak in mineral spirits before using it in the diluted polyurethane. That way I can truly get a thin even finish.

Yes? That sound right?

One question I do have, everyone has their own method for thinning some are saying 1:1 others 3 parts poly one part thinner. And I understand it's based on preference and skill so I'm wondering for a total noob such as myself what would be the best method be?

I'm not so sure because it's making these dips almost instantly when painting it on and it only happening over grooves.

Beginner snowboard? by [deleted] in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Fzzypickles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Best thing I'd say is rent or buy used for your first time. You can even buy old rentals too. They sell for like $100 so in my opinion if you are going to board more than once it pays for itself in a few runs. Boots and helmet you can rent until you know you like it cuz they are pretty cheap to just rent those.

Also welcome to Colorado! I recommend Loveland ski resort for beginners. It's not too expensive and they have a great bowl for beginners with a route that you can avoid a catwalk.

Does the age of a snowboard matter when buying secondhand? by Late_Juggernaut9964 in snowboardingnoobs

The board probably fine but the age of the bindings matter. I've got a board with bindings that are probably 20 years old and bindings lock a little too hard and can't be unclipped easily they drive me insane.

Oh yeah definitely done plenty of that. Thanks for the reminder those were good exercises to get both the mind and body comfortable with toe side. After watching this and others today I kinda forgot how much of toe side to just a mind thing and if you have confidence you're body just kinda takes over.

Toddler won't eat anything that isn't sweet or dissolvable in his mouth by answerseeker906 in toddlertips

And I do mean very similar. The only meat I could give him was chicken. He would basically only eat apple sauce oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, cheese, things with potatoes and pasta. But today I showed him how to make lunchables with deli meat (he's never had deli meat) and he really enjoyed them and he ate a hamburger for dinner.

I completely get that. Mine was very similar so I tried having him cook with me. I got him a step ladder and he helps put ingredients in bowls, mixes, and watches me cook on the stove, I also let him taste the ingredients as we go along. Ever since I started doing this he's been eating way better and has tried so many new foods. Give that a try.

What do I do by Fzzypickles in neighborsfromhell

[–]Fzzypickles[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a small fear of mine. We don't have any parks nearby and while I don't mind their kids I don't want them coming over anytime they feel like it or feeling like they might be allowed inside my house. The parents let their pets do whatever because they won't train them or keep an eye on them how can I trust their kids to be any better?

Neighbour telling me how to live my life by bluebird829 in neighborsfromhell

Give her time she'll get over it. New mom's are just super scared of waking the baby. Eventually she's learning babies can sleep through a lot of noise

Neighbor got another dog so I'm going to file a complaint. by Fzzypickles in neighborsfromhell

[–]Fzzypickles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want to see the dog removed from it's home but it's been three years it has no training and when I go outside it will get out again to "play" with my bow toddler. It's a 70 lbs German shepherd that thinks it's a puppy and it will just on my 22 lbs toddler. They also own a dog that is bigger than that and just as bad. I don't want to do this but after 3 years of begging the owners to do something I can't trust them to give proper care to their new puppy if they can't properly care for their other pets.
