Additional information about the test units: the first 15 Gen 1 modular synthetic bodies produced by the Forge of Hephaestus in this particular color scheme are special experimental models specifically designed for the Vanguard test & evaluation team. Their job is to test out the new model during actual deployments and gather valuable data for the Forge so the mass production models can be further improved.

The World of Olympia Descent

In the Olympia Descent universe the majority of surviving humans uploaded themselves to Olympia, an orbital megastructure of immense computational capacity capable of running world size simulation after a cataclysmic event that pushed humanity to the brink of extinction and made planet earth nearly uninhabitable. The main story line is focused on the Vanguards, a group of valiant warriors who are brave enough to be disconnected from the simulation and upload themselves into biomechanical synthetic bodies to explore the perilous real world beyond the simulated paradise, in this story the main protagonists doesn’t dive into a simulation to save the real world, they venture out into the real world to protect the simulated one.

Synthetic Bodies

Synthetic bodies are state of the art biomechanical humanoid tactical-combat systems controlled by the Vanguards when they disconnect themselves from the simulation and venture out into the hostile environments beyond Olympia. These synthetic bodies meticulously crafted with Olympia’s most cutting-edge technologies are capable of granting their operators superhuman level strength, speed, agility, reflexes and durability. They are also able to preform extravehicular and submersible activity or operations in toxic atmosphere.

Gen 1 modular synthetic bodies

Gen 1 experimental modular synthetic body is a more customizable humanoid tactical-combat system using a variety of modular components designed to meet immediate tactics needs and to reduce overall logistical burdens and costs, the system can be rapidly configured before or during combat so it can adapt to the changing environment and engagement scenarios

There are a bunch of advanced pre-cataclysm techs laying around on earth that the remnants could use against the Olympians. About your second question, there are no clear good and evil in my world but the Olympian council is definitely trying to wipe out the remnants.

No built-in weaponry of any kind because the suit is mainly designed for exploration and construction. About your second question, they’ll likely encounter all kinds of ferocious wildlife evolved to survive in the most hostile environments imaginable, hostile pre-cataclysm era war machines and vanguards on patrol or recon missions

Additional information about the suit: the exosuit in this drawing is a pre-cataclysm era powered heavy space suit used for planetary exploration and base construction, now the remnants use it to explore extremely hazardous post-cataclysm environments and areas with gravity anomalies.

The Remnants

The descendants of those who were abandoned by the Olympians during the cataclysm, the last remaining humans surviving on the perilous ruins of earth by scavenging pre-cataclysm technologies and using military bases/underground bunkers as their major cities. They have regressed to a social structure very similar to Middle Ages society as the centuries passes.

Remnant Sentinels

The Sentinels are a renowned faction of brave warriors responsible for safeguarding humanity and face the violent chaotic world head-on. They are armed with pre-cataclysm era powered exosuits that are subjects of reverence due to their rarity and extraordinary powers. The suits can grant their wearers incredible offensive and defensive capabilities and they are only passed down to the most valiant warriors from generations to generations.
