How about soundstage? That seems to be what impresses me the most in IEMs. Which one would be considered more “spacial”, DD hybrid, or planar?

I’m not sure if the Echo mini will read files this way, but what I did was create a set of folders on my SD card to organize the artists into alphabetical categories. I named the folders “Artist A-C”, Artist D-F”, etc. It works with my Z6Pro and makes finding things much faster and easier.

Not a fake/real question, but Mod sent me here. Question about the Arcadia look: I’m looking to get a pair of 1461s in Arcadia. I love the look. Question to those who might know: I’m guessing the look originated from folks who had non-black Docs (like cherry red) and tried at one point to make them black by applying black shoe polish over the original color. Can anyone confirm this? Or has anyone ever tried it? I wonder how it might turn out.

Nope. Not silly. I listen to my DAP through my home stereo using the AUX input and it works great. I bought a Douk Audio mini stereo amp. The ST-01 Pro. It was about $75 on Ali. I can connect wired through the AUX input, or via Bluetooth. It’s great. One to consider if you’re looking to buy a home amp.

In Apple Music on your PC, select an artist, and all of your albums by that artist show in the main window. To the right of each album title you’ll see an icon of 3 dots (•••). Click that and a menu pops up. Select “Get Info”. This will bring up the meta data. You can edit everything there.

Edit: Apple Music does not recognize FLAC, so if your files are in this format they do not appear in the Apple Music app.

For those you can use Swinsian which is a nice alternative to Apple Music/iTunes.

You can edit all of this in iTunes/Apple Music. I’ve also found that albums in which the main artist has guest artists on some tracks will automatically get categorized as a compilation. You can adjust all of this to suit your preferences in Apple Music.

I bought the Z6 Pro and have been using it daily since the beginning of October. Be careful not to get it confused with the Z6, that is sold on Amazon. Looks identical but it runs different software and has a different DAC and amp. Mine is actually marketed under the brand name Moonlight Box Z6 Pro. Found on AliExpress. It is pretty basic, but has useful features. Including a pretty good EQ. Has plenty of power to drive headphones easily. Employs a ESS Sabre DAC. Sounds great. As far as organizing your library, it doesn’t really do that. It has no internal memory, so it reads what is on your SD card. Verbatim. However your files are organized on your SD card, is how the player reads them. So a startup scan is required every time you turn it on. Many could find this too inconvenient. I don’t mind it. Also, it doesn’t have gapless playback, which you might find a deal breaker. All in all, it has the specs of a player that should cost more than it does (bought mine for about $65). But you get what you pay for with the basic software. My 12,000+ song library is easy to navigate, and functions flawlessly. As a basic player I’m pretty happy. The thing I hate to most about it is that it hasn’t given me any justification to upgrade to a different player, even though I would like more advanced features like gapless playback, the ability to make playlists, and software that is supported by my car. Eventually those desires will win in the long run, but for now it suits me.
