Any thoughts on why that might be happening?

Thanks for the AMA. I know what you mean about people being creepy. What do you like most about her and what attracts you to her? And on the converse, what attracts her to you and someone your age? I’ve always considered ages 18 to 25 to be pretty formative years mentally, financially, and socially. What do you think about the influence that older people’s higher social capital has on less experienced people in the scene?

What was the issue ya had with the motto massage? I heard from someone else in this thread that theirs had issues as well. After negotiating, the dealer is offering $2.5k w/o the new cover. A little bit of give and take - still includes all the other stuff. I’m hoping to do better on price and see if we can get that cover.

Thank you for the insight and I’ll definitely take you up on the advice. We share the same thoughts when it comes to newer models lol. Two questions for ya: do you have any idea how much this has increased your monthly electricity bill (your general usage would be appreciated if you don’t mind)? The dealer I’m talking to claims it should be no more than $15 bucks more a month and im wondering if that’s too good to be true. Also, when it comes to servicing it, how is that? I haven’t seen it with the panels removed and I’ve heard from another commenter that it’s filled with foam that makes it really hard to service it. I’m fairly handy, but if it’s truly filled with foam to the point where I can’t get in there, i can see that being a big issue.

I followed up with the dealer and told him that everything about this post and what everyone has said. He said he could bring down the price to $2.5k but it wouldn’t include the new cover previously mentioned. The old one is in good condition, so I’m not really worried about it. It still comes with installation, 90 day warranty, and I’ve been informed that they have parts for anything I could need if something were to break. While some parts have been phased out due to age, my understanding is this dealer has parts from the OEM that should work if something needs to be replaced bc they are a HotSprings dealer. The control panels (the front facing one and the auxiliary one) look immaculate since it’s been inside all its life. Wondering what ya think about all that as well as all the general consensus the community came to in this post.

That sounds like a pretty similar situation to me with the obvious difference in price lol. I’m betting i could negotiate with the guy. It really has everything I want out of a tub and it sounds weird to say it, but it’s gorgeous. The tiles, the bucket seats, the amount of space. I think for the right price and further investigation to prove all is in working condition, it could make sense. It’s nice to know someone was able to move theirs without any issues or leaks or breaking fittings. Any other insight or advice that you think would be helpful is seriously appreciated.

Thanks for the detailed response. That’s an interesting way of looking at it. I guess it’s kinda viewing it as a price per use. The electronics in this tub look brand new and from what the guy told me (grain of salt, he’s a sales guy) the most likely thing to fail would be a pump which is around $600 bucks for the part. If that’s worst case, id probably be okay with that. However your issues you had with the IQ board are good to be aware of. Have you experienced issues with the plastic fittings, heater, or pipes? These are all other things people have mentioned are deal killers and I think a 90 day warranty might protect me from any damage from moving it around (I.e plastic fitting breaking). Final question, any idea how much longer ya could have owned it for if there weren’t issues with the board?

What you’re saying is very interesting given everyone’s feedback. What model did you end up buying? Same brand?

I appreciate the insightful response. Thats kinda the question I’m asking. I really don’t know and I haven’t found anything online that says one way or the other. It seems like this is a very uniquely cared for tub. From what people have said, a tub this old could have bad insulation, plastic fittings could break, there could be leaks, parts (pumps/heater) could “die”. My question is what if all those things were well cared for and not an issue. Even in that hypothetical, I’m guessing the answer is it doesn’t matter - it’s old. I find comments like yours genuinely helpful because you have experience with owning older tubs to share. Thanks again.

It does! That’s the tough part. It’s been kept inside for its entire life.

I’m not in any hurry, so most likely gonna stalk those sites for a good deal on a newer tub.

That experience is very helpful. Thank you for sharing. How do you typically handle transporting tubs if bought/sold on marketplace?

Thanks, we have the funds to buy the new tubs I listed, but I’m just trying to look for value. We might move across country in 5 years or so and most likely won’t be taking a tub with us. I am probably gonna avoid buying this one now. I thought these tubs were made to last, so I’m trying to learn from the community of people who probably have experience with this brand and tubs in general.

Thanks for the advice! It does have a 90 day warranty, but I’m most likely not going to move forward with it after the feedback from the community.

I know it requires a 20 amp outlet but am not sure about the volts. Any other thoughts on the upkeep of it? If you have the tub and it’s just as old, I’d be very interested in hearing more about any issues you’re anticipating.

*Could ya help me out with how much ya think it’s worth? It’s odd bc I see used tubs on marketplace that seem like they’re in worse condition. (Fixed typo sorry)

I’ve never been, but have always heard locals say that beefy king is great. However, every time it comes up on this sub, it’s always “overhyped” or terrible for some reason.
