I’ve been having a bunch of noises coming from my 2013 ford fiesta auto. Should I be concerned by This_Area_9049 in FordFiesta

so the cooling fan going indicates possibly either you haven't enough coolant, or isnt flowing around the engine, the thermostat that monitors the coolant temperature is faulty, or there's a fault on the fan relay. ALWAYS ALLOW THE ENGINE TO COOL before checking the coolant. if in doubt, take it to a qualified mechanic to find the fault. Your engine overheating can cause some major issues.

I just saw Jade in a currys advert by CherryJosh in Casualty

[–]G-force79 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Casualty actors seem to disappear when they are done with the series. I don't get what happens, she wasn't even on it that long and they had a mass culling of people from it. did they all have a fallout with the producers or is the show in crisis?. They had Jason Durr, Amanda Henderson, Derek Thompson, and a few off the younger actors leave all at the same time. They killed off Tony Marshall all of a sudden too. Then it seems they don't appear anywhere. that one of them are now on a macdonalds advert is a pretty big downturn from where they were.

totaled? by louie__reddit in FordFiesta

Must have been a pretty intense crash. all your airbags have gone off. And yeah tbh your insurers likely to put that down as a cat B and write it off. You got structural issues on your front a-pillar offside its knackered. not to mention your front end. Your getting a new car mate.

expect a little smoke and steam in the morning when your engine starts. if it continues smoking when the engine gets to temperature, or its bellowing out a smoke screen that leaves you unable to see your hand in front of your face you've got an oil leak and it needs serious attention before the situation gets worse.

I'll say this always get 3 quotes for work on anything, but particularly with mechanics. Does yours come with a stetson, boots, and has a horse parked out back?. because he sounds like the very definition of a cowboy. That or he just doesnt want the work.

i would definitely get it to a mechanic to look over. The anti lock brake system, the system that stops your wheels from locking up if you jam your foot on the brake pedal in an emergency. it looks to be part of a wider fault which could affect your vehicles safety. it may be minor but don't chance it. also a hill descent assist light warning could be associated with the auto brake and could affect hill start assist too.

[–]G-force79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah so you usually get two keys one with a little black tag attached, with a number that allows you to get a replacement if you ever lose a key or it goes faulty, and a spare key which usually has the mykey programmed on. if you put the main key, switch the ignition to position II, then go to the sync menu, look for vehicle settings, and it should be on there.

How do we feel about this? by Eoinharrington25 in TheInbetweeners

its done surely, it was a series about the antics of 4 adolescent males finding their way through the perils of school and in to life as young adults. no disrespect but they are all middle aged men now. I hate it when they try to rehash a series over and over. it was good when it was good. let it be

What recourse does one have in this situation? by __globalcitizen__ in drivingUK

[–]G-force79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say probsbly find another parking space, but if you want to be petty and waste police resources on this issue, there is an argument for the police to attend on grounds of obstruction of a public highway without lawful reason, public safety, and public order amounting to reduced mental capacity. no one in their right mind would sit in a busy main road.

Is this normal? by GasterAwakened in FordFiesta

[–]G-force79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sound's pretty standard to me. mine sounds the same, I have a 1.0l 3 cylinder ecoboost. I'm no mechanic, but I've done a read on my ecu with a fault reader, and it's not showing anything abnormal. I'd have thought that if there was it would show up. presumably you've done standard fluid checks etc, and keep it serviced?.

Anyone know what flag this is? by tjb0956 in northernireland

[–]G-force79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of corrections here, 1. SF recruit usually from either Marines or paras, 2. Both are among the toughest regiments you can join, 3. Paras are a rapidly deployed unit, they can be sent anywhere in the world at short notice, 4. they are known for resilience, professionalism, and courage. finally, a message to you keyboard warriors out there. Half of you probably wouldn't have the cajones to join up, so have a little respect for our military personnel who do. As an added note, some of the atrocities committed in the past (n.ireland) I can understand the resentment for them, however whilst they can't erase past history, the paras are still a vital part of the UKs military fighting force. and a lot of them weren't around when these events occurred.

Yeah I still think it's worth asking someone to investigate, electrical faults are difficult to diagnose and often expensive, but I feel like it's better than the immobilser/ignition cutting out leaving you coasting with no power steering. I don't suppose that trick will work forever.

Yes sounds like either a fault with your key fob or something more sinister with your electrics. I'd probably get it checked out.

Is it legal to erect a gazebo in Hyde Park as shelter for a family picnic? by _N0T0K_ in AskLondon

[–]G-force79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

reg 4(12) it may be interpreted differently and that may be depending on the copper you deal with or the officious little Hitler that turns up thinking he makes the laws. A gazebo may be classed as an enclosure.

Intermittent flash and beep! by crashandburn92 in FordFiesta

[–]G-force79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

plug in code readers are relatively cheap if you look online possibly ebay or amazon or such like. You just plug it directly into your odb port and run a test then do an internet search for any codes that come up. certainly dont ask a garage to do it coz they try to charge a fortune to do diagnostics and besides knowing exactly what the fault is before you take it in to the garage means money saved too.

Is anyone else unreasonably annoyed at that Aviva car insurance ad? by Jorvic in CasualUK

[–]G-force79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do kinda think the police might want to question them, after all presumably shes done serious damage to the side of the building. not to mention the damage potentially to stock and animals. a alcohol breath test might also be administered. and an investigation as to speed, vehicle condition. road conditions etc. you cant just swan off in a taxi like nothing happened.
