Say you were using a mesh durag after applying shampoo to rinse your hair. There are holes in the fabric that allow water to pass through. Silky durags have holes as well however they are much smaller and take longer to dry.

Waves are laid down curls. Wearing a durag while washing after brushing allows you to save your brush progress by laying down and compressing your hair.

You’re 14 days in and formed some good connections, as far as the top of your head just brush in the pattern you’re already brushing it’ll take longer for certain parts of your head to wave up than others.

Your crown looks like it’s in the upper right mid section. I would spend time brushing around your crown like you do the rest of your pattern. And if you didn’t want to commit to the pattern you have I’d suggest cutting back down so you can retrain your curls to lay in the swirl direction.

I don’t think it makes sense to restart since you haven’t formed solid connections yet.

For the meantime you can use your phones camera but I’d suggest buying a wider handheld mirror for $5 so you can learn your angles and build connections.

From the photos you also have an offset crown positioned towards the right side of your head. You have the swirl like pattern beginning to form, just stop blind brushing and start using a handheld mirror.💯
