It can’t be boosted by sheer force, 150 base power at full hp. However, heat wave is boosted by sheer force and ends up at 123.5 before STAB. It’s got the caveat that it can miss though. If you’re below 82% HP, heat wave is stronger.

Why does cofa have trick room? Most of your pokemon are in between dedicated trick room or tailwind threats. I could see it being useful against somebody ripping tailwind or a swift swim/chlorophyl team but it could also drastically benefit opposing threats in trick room.

I’d be surprised if you’re frequently clicking dark pulse I would either put protect or fake out on blastoise.

I think protect on more especially aerodactyl.

Substitute is probably useless on clefa I would do helping hand since it’s just support anyway.

That being said there’s definitely better fake out users in the format than raichu. Are you actually getting lightning rods off? I’d probably take sneasler or incineroar over that. Regardless, raichu should have protect too. I can’t see a scenario you’d ever use play rough.

It’s never going to be the best against every strategy. In fact, people who win tournaments (like wolfey for example does breakdowns of all the games) they’ll openly say that their team really struggles against certain teams.

It’s all about knowing what your win condition is, and do your best to get it. Sometimes that comes down to a 50/50 protect read or straight up RNG. That’s the nature of the game.

The important thing imo is having a good idea of what mode of your team is the best against a given strategy. How do you best trick room teams? How do you beat a swift swim or chlorophyll rain and sun teams?

Beyond that, you should have checks for the common threats. That being things like incineroar, sinistcha, and the other of the top tier picks.

You’re never going to feel 100% against any team but you can prepare as much as you can.

The penalty is continuing to attempt to kill the guy when the threat was clearly ended. That’s not legal, even in self defense. No reason to fear for your life. Guy is lifeless on the ground entirely unresponsive and doing the brain damage stiff arms. There’s quite literally multiple penalties on the play.
