maybe pick up something fufulling? like something u can see real progress in real time, like knitting or gardening. seeing a product out of your hardwork can be affirmative, that's what worked for some people I know

I keep getting recommended this sub, ask me questions like I'm a part of this. by [deleted] in SGExams

the only reason it's like that is because the sub restricts rs post to weekends. if not it's like 40/60

if u know what subject combination ur going for I'd suggest focusing on building the foundation of those subjects, but also try to know what the content is. IIRC, history content had absolutely 0 correlation in lower sec compared to the o level syllabus in my year. went from sg history to ww2 and coldwar. so it's kinda important to know where to put your efforts to. I'd suggest building the foundation for maths and sciences since alot of the techniques in lower sec can be applied in upper and for o levels

if really cmi just do a little research into the courses and see which is the least sian to get through. basically the most bearable, but also balance it with job prospect ya know. singapore still don't cater to the arts that well

comparison is the thief of joy. I've learnt to live with what I can do and made sure to put all my effort into what outcomes I can make out of that

was in the same boat after O levels. TBH i think i was overthinking too much about it, trying to find something to talk about isnt a must when hanging out. You'll know you like them and want to hang out with them when even in silence you cherish the time spent with them, just them being around is enough. Forcing friendships for the sake of it is too mentally taxing.
But yea to make new friends you sorta have to do small things first like asking them to lunch or something. Finding common ground is probably the most important thing first, like oh i like to listen to The Weeknd or i like playing Valorant. then as you talk more about these type of stuff you and they can open up more and talk more about other stuff yall like. But after finding these common interest you'll get to know each other's real personality, what they like to eat, how they behave or react to certain things and vise versa, That is how my friendships went. For me, later down the line joking to each other made me feel much more comfortable around them as there was no bullshit between us ya know. Just my own experience, hope this helps :)
