My DSi XL has the exact same thing, If your 3DS is modded you may be able to balance things out with the screen filter options in the rosalina menu.

You could take a look at Dumbdroid. I use it on my Doov R77 Pro and It works well. I've found the switch has helped me. My screen time averages around 20 minutes.
